Grey marbleish cassette for me. I remember popping it in and listening to All The Girls and thinking WTF is this?

Spent many hours pausing and rewinding with the liner notes/lyric sheet.

I was four years old.

I have bought Paul's Boutique four different times though. Three on cd because the first two got worn and skipped too much. And of course the 20th Anniversary Edition.

Crazy. When LTI turns 25 you think they'll get into the Rock N Roll HOF?

I have two yellow cassettes, one red one, and one grey one with a black label. The first one I bought was one of the yellow ones, and I picked the others up at various second hand stores. They all play fine still.

A month after getting the tape, I bought the original single vinyl with the 8 panel cover. I've since bought the cd twice, got the '98 double vinyl reissue, and bought both the 20th anniversary cd and vinyl.

Easily one of the 10 greatest albums ever.

Yeah I still got mine. A blue tape and a white w/black speckles. The label glue dried out years ago on the blue one and its peeling and yeah, the paper quality on that inlay/lyric sheet was real thin. I was hyped and didnt care that it didnt sound like LTI either. I just got into it. PB was the soundtrack for that summer for me and my friends. It was cool, Yo! MTV Raps Today would play a couple of the videos and there def was a looming "only a few heads are really digging on this" 2nd Beasties...but those "in the know" at the time, knew it was soooo damn good, unusual, and special. I totally remember that post PB and pre CYH time-period where the B-Boys were considered done or has beens by many. Theres some albums that I never get tired of listening to and PB is one of them.

The album is lyrically DENSE. And chock full of quotables and one liners. Some of the best they ever wrote.

Hello Nasty is lyrically dense as well, but its not the same for me. I got love for that record, but not like PB.

I remember wondering why the lyrics to A Year & A Day weren't included, then they eventually made them available for delivery in the mail around the time CYH was coming out. I wish I still had that sheet.

They should have been eligible in 2007.. (Polly Wog Stew 1982)

you know they were nominated in 2008 but lost out to Madonna, John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen and the Ventures, right?
