Has any1 taken advantage of this? Where if you have a car over 10 years old you can get £2k towards the price of a new one in an attempt to kick start the economy.
I know its greenwash in the sense its made to be like its a green initiative but ignoring all that - here is my thinking.
I have a car I've had since new and its 11 years old, I love it and its probably worth about £1k on its own and I was thinking if I can get that £1k and the £2k from the government off a fairly cheap new car then it'd be a bit of a bargain. Its not running amazingly atm, I guesstimate it has about £300 worth of work need to get it back up and running but I can use it for now, although the winter might kill it and double that work.
Problem is, I do less than 2000 miles a year as its almost pointless me having a car but there is a chance that I may want to travel round some of europe next year and having a car that runs well would be a nice investment I'm thinking.
So any thoughts?
