Man, it's hot here today. Over 100 for the first time in recorded history and the air con at work is malfunctioning.
I'm counting the minutes until I can go jump in the lake!
People are kinda freaking out but I like it. It reminds me of growing up in Vegas with no air con in car or apartment.
first time I saw the sun today it was 9.30pm - I nearly tweeted it but didn't - its been that dull here.
fuck the UK!

Apparently it's over 105 on the roof of our building. That is nuts for this part of the country!

I love all my Pacific Northwestern friends dearly, and I have quiet a few since I went to college there, but you all crack me up.
For years they've all been saying how lucky I am to live in/be form California, how the weather must be so great, etc. and now you all get some of our weather and the majority of you are pissing and moaning like its the end of the world.
oh and btw please tell everyone that not all californians have AC either. I don't. And I've managed to live through plenty a day with triple digit temps. ;)
hee hee. I love you guys though. I really do.(y)
it's getting pretty bad in new england too - very humid
i know it's not as bad as, say, florida but still, when you can't sleep because your covers are literally hot to the touch, you know it's a bit warm out

Yeah, it cracks me up, people just freak out, there are all these stay cool advisories and all the stores are sold out of fans.
I don't mind it, it's so rare around here. But I guess we're all acclimated to very mild weather conditions around here so it's cause celebre so to speak.

We're currently on a few waiting lists with several local AC suppliers.
We have a couple of fans, but I was thinking about getting a few extra ones so that we don't have to keep moving them around the house. They had about 50 of them on a pallet yesterday at the grocery store, but I wanted to do a little shopping around. I ended up going back two hours later for some and they were all gone.

I actually am enjoying it, I've spent every afternoon possible at the lake. I'd go again today if I thought anyone would go with me. It's so rare that it's warm enough to just jump in without taking it a few steps at a time, it's been great to just wade in and swim with abandon for as long as I want without getting even a little bit cold. I was in the lake at 8:30pm last night, that's unfreakingheardof even at the height of summer. I only got out to go home because I was hungry. If I'd had access to food I could have stayed until dark.
The only drawback is it's hot at night and I currently have a cold so I'm having double trouble sleeping. But come on, just get a cool washcloth and a fan and deal with it. Lucky for us we have a lower level that stays cool so we blew up our air mattress and have been sleeping in the foyer the past few nights.

we are having the opposite here.
It's supposed to be around 75-80 and sunny. Instead it's completely overcast, around 63 with a chilly breeze.
 I want summer, damn it.
Freeze a bottle of water - put it in front of the fan = cheap A/C.
But since I live in the UK and know this, I'm guessing the hotter places know it to.
I'm cold right now :(

ps, you guys are lucky. Central America is always fucking hot no matter what season. For us its winter season and we got mosqitos and the heat sweat everything. Aussies can complain as well.
