I want to see it. Almost saw it Friday but it was only playing at 7pm and 10pm. It was 6pm and I still wanted to get a sit-down dinner with drinks. And 10pm was too late for my old ass to watch a movie, you know, not in the house.
So I played video games after dinner instead.
Next time, though. (y)

I could've gone to a free screening last week, but I was busy. My friends who saw it gave it lukewarm reviews and they're usually all about these kinds of movies. Odd.

this movie looks like it might be a little too pleased with itself, but I will probably love it anyway. I <3 Zooey forever and ever.

Wait. Is there a new Van Wilder movie in theaters? Or do you mean a direct to dvd release?

it's definitely not perfect, but it was a lot of fun. and it's good for anyone that's been sort of a hopeless romantic and then lost that love. makes you really understand why those relationships didn't work out. i enjoyed it.

No no cosmo, let them be. I'm sure Godfather II is on AMC this afternoon. That should be fine.

hmm ... Okay, I heard this movie was gonna be some lame copy of whatever romantic indie inspired ...eer stuff which were just predictions made by people based on the trailer. But I also heard when those people went to see it that the film was actually different from what they had thought. So, okay cool the more people watch the movie the more people are gonna watch it.
This movie gets neg rep for that indie vibe in the trailer which Juno, "Bullshit, I cant remember the name" playlist, that one new one Paper...Dolls, and there is that one movie called something Land... aah its like the same as horror movie now with more gore and topless scene. Its like the same shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. But again to those neg rep the movie people who actually seen say you would be surprise. So it has.
what the fuck am I typing about?

the movie was good but the scenes with the little sister seemed so out of place.
too much of a wise little know-it-all Holden/Phoebe Caulfield thing going.
besides, his character was from NJ, presumably having moved to LA to pursue a career. what the fuck is his sister doing there and why are the parents never at her soccer games?
but I enjoyed the love letter to lesser known parts of Los Angeles. I've been to that park with the big fountain and thought how this part of downtown is pretty cool but no one knows about it...

aw, I like the little sister. I didn't notice the new jersey thing. and I think she was just at soccer practice, not a game.
anyway, it was a decent movie. I liked the idea, but I thought the ending was a little too neat. maybe I would've liked it better if the new girl didn't look like they took a porn star and put her in a business suit.

i really liked it.
different from your usua rom-com fair, well made, well acted, very intelligent.
one plot point had me haaaaating it though, in the final third, until the final scene saved it.
well worth a watch.
also, any film that features the Clash "Train in Vain" is all good.

i get why this movie is supposed to be good, but it just made me miserable. it's a pretty movie, and it's really cute throughout, but... i dont know. maybe it wasn't the right movie for me.

I'm surprised I didn't make a thread about it when I saw it.
It really had its own unique charm to keep the steam in it. The presentation was everything.
Great movie.(y)(y)
I really enjoyed it. To be honest, I kind of expected to enjoy it but that still didn't set the bar too high. I obviously don't want to spoil it but how the story works out in the end is such a rarity for movies now a days
Its funny, when I seen it I went with a girl I had started seeing and the relationship the two have in the near the start seemed to remind me so much of what I was currently going through. Mannerisms they had, things they did etc. Then I got to the end of the movie and thought "oh, well that part wasnt like what I'm going through".
Skip to today and it seems like it is. It seems this movie almost sums up the relationship exactly. Well apart from all the crying he does.
