... and I just checked online and it looks like someone has been using it to call California.
Too much to hope it would be in a lost and found bin somewhere. :(
I feel exposed.

call your phone company, suspend the service, and perhaps contact the police? or call the number that they called and try to see if you can shame the people into returning your phone.

I called one of the numbers in California but the person answered in Spanish. I didn't know what to do so I just hung up.
I asked my husband to text it and offer a $50 reward no questions asked. If I don't hear back by tonight I'll suspend the service.
Dang it, I just want my freaking phone back. I don't have pictures or phone numbers backed up and I can't afford to buy a new one. I'll be going back to cheap phone hell if I have to replace it.
:(
if you have contents home insurance you can sometimes claim off that - I have. The loss of photos may have some sync with your online network account so some or all photos may be on there?
good luck

Now my friend is telling me he thinks someone actually stole it and all of my money while I was on the dance floor.

Post your number here and we should all text your phone threatening them.

Just phone your network provider, they can remotely bar the phone from making any calls or taking another SIM card.
Do. It. Now.

Get an iPhone with MobileMe, it has a 'find my iphone' feature which means when and if you lose it you can log onto your account on the web and it will show you the phone's gps location.
Handy stuff that
Good luck! Hope the slimy thieves return it.

I'm a really honest person when it comes to things like this, if I found a phone or something similar I'd definitely try to return it. Too bad there aren't more people with this attitude.

My friend was at Ikea put his iphone down for like a second to pick something up, turned around and it was gone. He's sick about it.

I'd probably be sick if I ever walked into an IKEA

hint: write an email address on a tiny label somewhere on your phone with ": $50" next to it. works every time.
also, make your first contact in the address book "a - if_found_contact"
and if you have a personalizable welcome screen... you know what to do
Dammit. I've been sending you pics of my penis for the last few days! Oh well I hope they appreciate it.

On separate occasions, I accidentally left my ipod in the gym and my blackberry by the mailboxes of the building where my office is. Both times they ended being given to the building manager and were returned to me the next day.
Anyway, sorry someone with a little more class didn't find your phone.

The missus lost her phone recently and cancelled it straight away. She lost all her photos and numbers but got a new sim with her old number on it sent out to her, so it's not all bad. Get anyone who had the same photos to bluetooth them to you, and collect numbers off your friends' contact lists (y)
and collect numbers off your friends' contact lists (y)
or send a group message to your facebook friends (y)

Yeah, I don't care so much about the numbers or pictures, though it'd be nice to have them back. It's more that I just feel sort of violated, this person was using my phone to make calls and send text and picture messages. Whoever it is could easily have sent any number of things to anyone in my phone book and/or acquired personal information about me from my text messages.
I ended up reporting the phone stolen as it was clear since the person was using it that they had no intention of returning it. I did offer a reward and had the if found... thing but I think whoever took it is just an asshole who copped a nice phone. Oh well, they can't use it now, it's been disabled and won't take another sim card. So, jerks, what was the fucking point of depriving me of my phone so you could make a few calls and send a few text messages? It's trash now, you can't even sell it.
I had to buy a new one and I am getting used to it's functionalities. Oh well, lesson learned.
