The best parts are the sanctuary of one thousand testicles, the paintings made with butts, and the turd set aflame and turned into gold.
On a scale of 1 to 10, this gets a Q.
the remake really slaughtered the theme of the original i think

The real question is, what is Alexandro Jodorowsky doing today?
CLick (http://www.hotweird.com/jodorowsky/ajfilms.html)
Did you know he initiated the "panic Movement" in France? Funny, I just thought that was called "french humor". Ah the french... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alejandro_Jodorowsky)

Whoa. I just bought this last Friday, I've had El Topo for about a year now and have watched it a couple times, went on the hunt last week for Holy Mountain, couldn't find it, asked the counter jockey, "Nope, we don't have it." Went and looked again, and they had the Jodorowsky box set, $50
I've been waiting since then for a friend to come over so we could watch it together.
In related news, according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holy_Mountain_(1973_film)#Popular_culture_refe rences)....
"The music video for Santigold's L.E.S. Artistes is a homage to The Holy Mountain. Reproducing the crowd execution scenes where blood and guts are replaced by other items."
