I find that bittersweet works better than just overt happy when it comes to music. So that's the angle I'd take with it.

I tried to do a list but i think actually just music in general makes me feel better-anything i like, really loud. a couple of weeks ago my head was completely up my arse and i managed to blast it back out with some electronica!!
Heart Attack Man never fails to make me giggle-just the pure infectiousness of someone else laughing. And there was an Elvis track that had some woman wailing in the background and he was just laughing so hard that i would always end up nearly crying myself-must hunt that one down now
Drederick Tatum

I have to really reach back for upbeat songs that can beat the blues.
Here are some great performances that help me forget the blues from youtube,
In A Big Country (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkr_2G3Jlko)
Al Green singing People Get Ready (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8NWqO85P6Y&eurl=http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1257982076)
Teenage Kicks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGu2lu5XWE8&feature=related)
Quarter To Three Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH66lSTKpWg&feature=related) (seen Bruce 5 times coast to coast in the past year and a half, I would of loved seeing this in 1978!
Otis, "My Girl" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xBcpq2Dn3g&eurl=http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?drop&ref=mb)
Nowadays it's Mashups that do it Girltalk "In Step" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6TuMhYg89E&feature=related)
Usually though I'm just as happy stewing in my Blues (http://hypem.com/search/The%20Replacements%20Here%20Comes%20a%20Regular/1/).

You cannot kill the Blues with new music, it only makes you more depressed how much today's bands suck.
