If someone were to walk up to me and offer me a briefcase with a million dollars in it to sing the first line, I don't think I'd get past "Hey kids..."

My sister played that as the walk down the aisle to her wedding vows. I kid you not.
Without looking up the lyrics I think I know that one part
We're going to hear electric music solid walls of sound? I think...

i knew a kid who would sing parts of it to me all the time in middle school and i don't know the words myself
although mostly it was just him shouting bennie in the high pitched voice

^He probably made up half of the words. I won't ask why the kid was always singing to you though.
I know the part about electric boots and mohair suits without looking it up. That's about it. Oh, and the "Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie..." parts.
I think Biz probably knows more of the words than the average person.

That album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, I just started to listen to it for the first time this past year... it's really good.
I think it came out in 1973, it seems like a lot of singer songwriter types, I'll use Bright Eyes as an example, just cannot for the fucking life of themselves write a pop song today.
WTF?

Well, that was uncomfortable.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is awesome. I picked up a pristine vinyl copy of it last year for a buck. That's right, a buck. The artwork alone is worth ten.

Watching that clip was like having a vampire suck out my knowledge of useful pop culture.

Hey kids, Naw, don't get the paper. You know what it says, just another change in weather.
If you want the news you know you gotta stick around!
You're gonna hear a band of music, solid wall of sound.
Aww you! You can't stand up, oh no you're so phazed out.
Buh buh buh buh bennie and the jets.
This is just purely off memory.
I definitely don't just a few words here at there.

with you, especially now that I looked up Bernie Taupin's lyrics,
Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe theyre blinded
But bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find whos right and whos wrong
b-b-b-b-bennie and the jets!
