I saw Towers of London at some Proud Galleries party which was awful but it was free drinks so we put up with noise.

Otherwise, am somewhat ashamed to say it was Eels, a couple of years ago at the Astoria. I walked out as it was soooo dull. Very disappointed considering I actually really like the band.

Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters, Indiana University, 1999 I think. They were fine, but the crowd was shit. There were literally folding chairs down on the floor and people just sat in them! they sat down for a show with THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and politely clapped.

needless to say, both bands had very short sets that started out strong, but fizzled because of the lack of energy of the crowd. it sucked.

my girlfriend at the time got pissss asssss drunk in a crowd. i turned around for a second and all i saw was a gap in the crowd where she was. i looked down to see the deer in the headlights face looking up at me as she peed on my pumas. steeeerike three!

i did walk by the singer i think of blind melon in the hallway, that was cool

The last half of the Smasking Pumpkins "reunion" show this past November...

...I'm not sure how it was a reunion without James and D'arcy.

Nirvana. Reading Festival 1992.

the year before they stormed the same festival but then they went supernova and he got all fucked up. he was awful, they had to start teen spirit four times cos he was so twatted and it was just awful
it got voted in the top 20 gigs of all time on channel four a coupla years ago, now maybe i was suffereing at the end of a long festival or they were watching another gig but it was the most disappointed i have ever been at a gig.
the beasties were on the bill that day and i have never really heard tha much till then apart from bits of LTI and they were brilliant.

Kings of Leon at Plymouth Pavilions
Talib Kweli supporting Beasties at Wembley Arena

Disappointing as I was really looking forward to both gigs which were ruined by really bad sound quality. Luckily they sorted out the sound before the Beasties came on stage.

Run DMC @ Tibetan Freedom Concert '99 (I think) at Alpine Valley was the worst set ever. EVER! It feels shitty saying that but it was literally unbearable and you just wished they would stop. It was embarassing.

Nickelback - Vegas The things you do for love :( It was painful.

Rush - Murfreesboro The crowd sat through most of the show and had zero energy for such a small arena. Jackasses.

Saw GZA back in '05.
He had a laundry list of the most pathetic MC's you ever heard in your life that we had to sit through.
I think they just drove by and picked up a bunch of kids off the corner and gave them an hour on the Mic to warm up.
No Lie, I think it went on for 3 hours until GZA finally came out.
By that time, Elvis Presly could have came back from the dead and I wouldn't have been interested in his show, let alone GZA's.

Moby played at a festival I went to when I was in high school (I think it was the Area One festival, maybe in 2000?). Fucking wretched. (n)

Kenny fuckin' Rogers when I was around eleven or twelve years old.

My family was visiting my aunt and uncle in Boise and for a surprise they purchased Kenny tickets for all of us. There was nothing I could do to get out of it.

I put on the most rebellious outfit I could come up with (mirrored sunglasses, a pair of maroon parachute pants and a sleeveless, baby blue t-shirt with a Chinese symbol and the word karate across the chest) and bravely climbed into the backseat of my family's station wagon. If I had to go I was going to make sure all the cowboy boot, stetson hat wearing jokers knew I was a rocker.

The worst thing I remember is when Kenny sang Lady while a slide show of his wife giving birth on an enormous screen played behind his band. Her stretched vagina was the size of Honda Civic. :(

That is hilarious.

I bet this show was one of the worst for those who went this week.

a free vanilla ice concert at my friend's university. he was singing his heavy metal or whatever it's called songs, but he did play ice ice baby with the old beat. you could watch him swallow his pride as he did it. people were throwing bottles at the stage (including not-quite-empty 40 oz bottles) and he was an amazing sport about it, he just dodged them or caught them and threw them back and kept on singing. some people in the audience must have got hit because i saw people getting loaded into ambulances after the show.

oh wait, worst concert? hang on, lemme think

edit: holy shit it's on youtube

Who did you see? Shadow or Cut Chemist? I saw Shadow at Bonnaroo in 2005 and he was pretty alright and I've heard Cut Chemist's solo sets are fun, but their dj duet shtick is boring as all get out. Holy hell. There was no flow to whatever it was they were attempting to do, which from what I could make of it was to make old school video game and film audio sound cool. It didn't. There was no beat to speak of. Impossible to dance to. Fucking lame-o.

i saw shadow.

it was just him deejaying and some cool projections on a screen to go with the music.
everyone was dancing, even myself, even though i think dancing is usually for nancy boys.
and despite the fact that the majority of the people there were fucked up on some drug or other, i enjoyed it being stone sober. i guess the fact that he had some great music to work with helped.

oh no, this just gave me flashbacks of having to see Crystal Gayle when I was 11 or 12. I got all dressed up because I thought it would be a fancy concert and exciting because I'd be hanging out around adults. I tried to act very mature and even tried to enjoy the music. After staring at her long hair and thinking about what it would be like to have it, and how long it took her to grow it, I reorganized my purse and examined every item in it, took a look at my fake credit cards and wondered what it was really like to be an adult and if it would always be this boring. then I fell asleep.

I barely ever consider a concert bad as usually any professional band can impress on some level despite age, crowd or technical problems. Spank Rock Big Day Out 2007 kinda sucked tho cause their mc wasnt there so they just played a dj set. Was real amped to hear some backyard betty as well.

Other then that at this local musos club last week I saw a 5 peice attempt to play a set with no bassist, 3 drummers (who all played out of time), an aging punk rock lead singer with absolutely no songwriting skill and some fat ugly old lady on back up vocals. Now that truely sucked.

I win. I saw Amy Grant back in 85. I had an ulterior motive that being if my folks would let me stay out late to see one concert they couldn't play that card for a real show

Next concert I went to was Alice Cooper Constrictor tour. He chopped his head off while performing "I <3 the Dead" I Raff You Ruse Aric Barin
