There seems to be a historical trend with men and women's interactions. During the Middle Ages men wrote love songs to woo the woman of their choice and their attire was rather...flamboyant with color. Those practices seemed to die with the Industrial Revolution (if not before that) and the definition of "manliness" changed to something similar to what our culture recognizes as manly. Who knows though, with the slow but steady equalization of the sexes in our culture, maybe the day will come where men will get love songs or shiny things!:p
