felt like packing all your shit quitting your job and moving some where else?

I do lately out to Denver with my sister she already told me I can and I don't have to pay rent for the 1st year or so but I will anyways though. but even if its for a year gives me something new to do and new people to meet. but idk if its worth it though.

Ever felt like this,
Are strange things happening
Or am I going round the twist?

I'm sure I did that before.

You have a place to live and no pressure to get a job for a whole year. If you have the savings, I say Do it!

I wanna go live in a lighthouse now.

~ all the fucking time sjp. Take some time off - might as well do it in a recession as no1 else can afford to keep up with the jones right now. Just get back on the wagon when we are all rich and care about house prices again.

Yeah go do it. I plan on being back out in Denver in the year and a half. You would be a fool not to go, if you have the chance.

I wanna go live in a lighthouse now.

Or a fire watch tower...or a tree house...or a cave dwelling...or a yurt...or a teepee...or in a underwater complex deep below the ocean depths...hell I'd even try the Biodome out some day's...but I'm not down with the international space station or igloos at all...

I have that feeling daily. Been extremely close to pulling the trigger on that one, but could never fully bring myself to skip town. It's hard leaving an established job, knowing that if the move doesn't work out you're gonna have to start from the bottom again.

yup, and I did, 7 years ago. except I was 22 and had nothing better to do. I sure as shit wasn't about to live in ohio the rest of my life. and going back to detroit was just too depressing of an idea.

can't decide yet if I want to be in chicago forever though. I like it out west a lot and a lot of my family lives out there. but I did just have a lovely time taking the train and looking around my neighborhood, the grass and trees and porches are just so nice.

shame it'll all be covered in ice shortly. :(

Why would you go back to Denver? Is the ex still out there?

I was planning on moving out there before I met her here in VA 10 years ago. I go there pretty much every year for snowboarding. I have a good amount of friends there. I love the mountains. I love the city. Everyone is so laid back there. I can keep going on and on.

Yeah she is there, but no matter...I'm not trying to chase or win back a whore.

That's cool. I've never been to Denver but would be down to take some runs in the Rockies. Gettin' a little sick of crappy seasons loaded down with Cascade concrete.

Back to the actual question though, yes I have and I still do. I have enough money that I could just move away, but I'm tied down at the moment with my job and I wouldn't know where to start. I'd love to go to another country, US or Canada or even upside down land.

It was different for me as I am married but we both quit our jobs in the city (sounds good but we just worked in TGI Fridays!) and packed up and moved 550 miles South (that's pretty far over here). We had no money, no jobs organised and we could only stay in the place we had rented (without seeing) for 4 months before it was rented to holiday makers.

Five years later we both have careers (I don't have my job of choice but it pay's ok and has reasonable prospects), and bought our first house 2 years ago (regretting that now!). We now have a son and actually plan to move back to where we came from before he goes to school.

That said, I wouldn't have changed it for anything. I say go for it. You can always go back but you never know, you might love it (y)

I think I'd go to Chicago. I've never been there but it seems like it would be a great town, a good balance of big city trappings with midwestern, blue-collar charm.
