It's close. I'd say Jay has more quality material but he also has more shit. He's so much more prolific it's hard to compare.

If you took their best 3 albums, that would be a tough one. I think Ghost might edge it, for me.

Ghosts bad stuff is just kind of forgettable. I would say Kingdom Come and Blueprint 2 are pretty bad albums...but The Blueprint, The Black Album and Reasonable Doubt basically cancel them out.

i voted home and away because i couldn't choose.

i'd listen to jay first because i'd rather hear ghost WITH the rest of wu (and not just rae).

Truthfully, I just wanted to see how small the discussion circle has become.

I prefer Ghost's discography. Not by much, but Jay made some utter shit between Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint.

I wonder if you could count Cuban Linx for Starks?

this is actually tougher than i thought it would be. i was gonna go straight for Jay but now, i dunno. i think overall it would be Jay but Ironman is one of my fav albums.

I mean it's probably Jay because it's always been a Jay favouring forum. But discography-wise I prefer Ghost. I kept all of his albums, I fucked off Jay's shit ones (minus the occasional undigested kernel of goodness they yielded).

Oh yeah Home and Away rules, Charlie Buckton (Constable Fuckton lol) is her sisters mother hahaha

The only real bad songs on Vol. 1 are Lucky Me, I Know What Girls Like and Sunshine. And even by those standards, Jay's had songs that were equally bad or worse on even Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster.

I don't think Kingdom Come is as bad as people make it out to be. And to make a decent album out of Blueprint 2, you just take:

A Dream
The Watcher 2
All Around The World
Poppin Tags
Guns N Roses
U Don't Know (remix)
Meet The Parents
Some How Some Way
Some People Hate
Nigga Please
Show You How
Bitches & Sisters

Boom!

Also, Bulletproof Wallets, Pretty Toney, More Fish and Big Doe Rehab all have way too much filler.

So yeah, Jay.

Side note: I'd probably put up Nas' catalog against Jay's before Ghost's. Nas still loses, but I think he's had a stronger aggregate total of classic songs/albums over Ghost. NY State of Mind and Made You Look alone are worth more than most rappers' entire careers.

I agree. Only for the fact Jay can pick beats better than Nas can.

That's been Nas' Achille's heel at times.

They've both turned down a lot of beats from Preemo, though. So who knows.

I will say that Salaam Remi is just as capable of producing a monster as any of Jay's go-to-guys. He's just not as prolific as Just Blaze or Kanye. Nas should have kept working with him.
