My roommate bought a pur filter thing to put on the tap and I don't like the water out of it. it's missing something, maybe it filtered out some junk, but I think some of that junk was making the water taste good. :(

do those things even work? I think I'm just gonna go straight tap.

Can't stand the taste of chlorine. It's like drinking pool water. I'll be sticking to the demineralized ozonated spring water from the cooler for now.

ah, chlorine, that must be the flavor I like

You're one of those people that put tea bags in the hot tub before they get in it, aren't you?

does that actually work? i thought it was a myth.

how many times can you use the filter to make that work?

defiantly works. you can taste the difference, no messing around here bobber. and you can use the filter a shit ton of times.

just make sure you have a different one for your water, that is if you actually mind the water/vodka taste when drinking water.

I like my water here at my home filtered from my refrigerator filter thingy... but I feel so bad about the office. The boss "hooked us up" with some crazy expensive water filtration system like we put in all our billionaires homes and I HATE IT! I bring my bottle of water filled up from my fridge at home to the office. I drink and drink and drink the hyper pure fancy water from the office faucet and it's like got NO minerals in it, I literally pee the second I drink it. It's funky. I think you really need some gunk in your H2O. For real. (lb)

love tap water

if not for anything else, the environmental cost of bottled water should be enough to put most people off.

But I understand some places - especially in the states don't have safe drinking water. I must admit though, I love the taste we have here in Yorkshire - other counties (especially Lancashire) I don't like the taste. But its probably what I am used to.

And I drink an insane amount of water.

Is your bottled water safe? (http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/07/13/bottled.water.safety/index.html)

Bottled water contains disinfection byproducts, fertilizer residue, and pain medication (http://www.ewg.org/reports/bottledwater)

How dangerous is your water? (http://www.examiner.com/x-18166-Arlington-Vegan-Examiner~y2009m8d19-What-about-water)

My favorite, this guy (http://tapdny.com/media.php) is selling NYC Tap water, in a bottle.

I just take it from the tap and filter it myself, mostly because it means I always have a pitcher of cold water in the fridge, and secondly because it's cheaper and I don't have to throw away or recycle all those plastic bottles.

I've lived 38 years off of tap water, and it was good, chlorine and all, the pitcher filter in the fridge is mainly a reminder to me to DRINK MORE WATER!

Ripper: Mandrake?

Mandrake: Yes, Jack?

Ripper: Have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?

Mandrake: Well, I can't say I have.

Ripper: Vodka, that's what they drink, isn't it? Never water?

Mandrake: Well, I-I believe that's what they drink, Jack, yes.

Ripper: On no account will a Commie ever drink water, and not without good reason.

Mandrake: Oh, eh, yes. I, uhm, can't quite see what you're getting at, Jack.

Ripper: Water, that's what I'm getting at, water. Mandrake, water is the source of all life. Seven-tenths of this earth's surface is water. Why, do you realize that seventy percent of you is water?

Mandrake: Uh, uh, Good Lord!

Ripper: And as human beings, you and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids.

Mandrake: Yes...

Ripper: Are you beginning to understand?

Mandrake: Yes...

Ripper: Mandrake. Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rain water, and only pure-grain alcohol?

Mandrake: Well, it did occur to me, Jack, yes.

Ripper: Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation. Fluoridation of water?

Mandrake: Uh? Yes, I-I have heard of that, Jack, yes. Yes.

Ripper: Well, do you know what it is?

Mandrake: No, no I don't know what it is, no.

Ripper: Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

You know it totally depends on where you live. The house I grew up in had great tap water and the house where I currently live had it too. I don't like water that's too cold so I'd rather drink tap water than something that's been in a pitcher in the refrigerator.

But my last two apartments had horrible water. It tasted of iron and it ruined my hair too. I did the Brita pitcher all the time back then.

The trick is to get a nice layer of petroleum jelly on there beforehand, to prevent searing.

Congratulations on the usage of the word tap instead of faucet.

thanks, I did it to impress everyone.

actually, I don't think I know anyone who says "faucet". unless you're like shopping for a new one, then it's all, "oh, I need a new thingy for the sink, where's the faucet section?"

but saying "tap" and "tap water" is very common as far as I know.
