Umm, I just realize that I've never had a proper second date. I've had a few first dates, but they usually never work out. so, tonight, I have a second date with that 22 year old. I thought maybe I'd gotten away with brushing him off without having to have a talk, but he came back full force. and he "can't wait" to see me. :/
urgh, I don't know what to do. we're going to the movies. it's better to go to the movies with someone and tell them in person that you don't want to see them again, right? instead of texting, "meh, nah, don't like you".
or am I a jerk for even agreeing to a second date?
this seemed like a much better idea a few days ago. :(

I haven't had a first date in a while (not by my choice) so I honestly can't give you any quality advice.

Oh god NO, not the movies!! Seriously movies are the worst choice for a date - you don't talk at all, and the whole time you sit there next to them wondering if you are supposed to touch them or if they are trying to touch you or whatever. And you don't even get to know the other person at all, which is the whole point of the date.
I would suggest something else at least.
bowling is winner 2nd date material

I am completely inept when it comes to second dates as I've been on like a million first dates this summer alone and have yet to have a follow-up. :(

I think a movie is a good choice since you're not that into him. You don't have to worry about it getting awkward because all you're going to be doing is sitting there. When you guys part ways, just tell him "it's been fun but I don't think this is going to work." Nothing wrong with that.

okay, so maybe I like him after all. :o
his jeans were perfect, and his eyelashes, my god, his eyelashes....
we don't actually get along that well, but sometimes he says super weird things that make me laugh really hard. and he can't get enough of me, but he also tells me to stop talking when I'm saying dumb things. which is highly attractive, ironically.
I don't know man, it was kind of nice, we saw the movie, went to a bar and had a couple of beers after and then I walked with him to the train holding hands, and kissed a bit. and he said he'd like to see me again, we hugged, smooched, etc. etc.
*sigh*
I don't know if I've ever been in this situation of dating someone, rather than just hopping in the sack and seeing what happens after. it's real cute.

ha, well, I'm glad you knew, because I didn't! blergh.
it's funny, I was talking to my mom on the phone the other day and she was asking me about boys and I was like, "yeah, I have a date with this one dude, but he's too young" and she was like, "how old is he?" and I was like, "uhh, 22". and she did her mom voice and said "[dorothy]". but then she thought for a second and realized that her husband is 8 years older than she is. and then decided it was completely fine because if I were a man, nobody would care very much, so fuck it, go for it. ha.
so yeah, I think I'll give it a go.

ugh! without fail, the "popcorn trick" reminds me of my college boyfriend. he was such a dork, he actually wanted to try it on me. I just gave him a hand job in the car instead. :(

second dates are good fun. i'm glad you surprised yourself by actually starting to like him, ha!
i couldn't do a movie date, i'd get too nervous sitting there self consciously. i'd want to get it over with so we could go to a bar and start drinking cider. dates are best with lots of cider. yip yip.

I wasn't too self-conscious, but I was thinking about being self-conscious because of what dandy said. heh. I could tell that he was nervous and didn't know what to do. luckily it was freezing in the theater, so I just cocooned myself in my jacket. also, it wasn't really a cuddly movie. I'm pretty sure he wanted to touch me though, ha.
