havnt seen a thread for it yet. it's about time, they should have split after morning glory. i say split because lets face it, he's the only one who could write a song.

i wasnt sure where to put this thread.

well, still not entirely convinced thats the end of it but it does seem a bit different from other incidents they have had. its sad but at the end of the day they are brothers and i dont think its the last time they'll work together. to be honest, quite looking forward to seeing what they'll both do solo style.

those brothers are such whiny bitches. it's too bad, they are talented dudes, but their bullshit attitudes completely turn me off of their music.

I remember being a fan - then I saw them live (about '98 I think) and they sucked so much balls that I gave all my CDs away and decided to never listen to them again - they really was that bad and spoilt it for me. But I can't say that they didn't change british music (although I could dispute it easily enough), but they really should of only been famous for a couple of years max - VERY over rated.

^ you must seen a bad gig mate, cos i seen them a few times and was blown away evry time.
sure, liam is a bit of a bellend and a primadonna but it all adds to the drama a bit.
top band, noel is a genius and the band have definitely seen better days but i am really looking forward to hearing noel unleashed.

ok, it was a bit extreme what I said (now reading it back). But the gig was the beginning of the end, I started to dislike them rather than be any sort of fan - I've seen plenty of bad gigs but Oasis just stopped doing anything for me and then they started to annoy me, now I'm not a fan whatsoever :o

well for the record

definitely maybe - amazing
morning glory - amazing
be here now - could have been a lot better without so much cocaine
standing on the shoulder of giants - apart from fuckin in the bushes its pretty bad
heathen chemistry - signs of improvement
dont believe the truth - patchy but lyla is a highpoint
dig out your soul - get over the total beatles rip offs and its some of the best stuff they have done.

Right? I seriously thought this shit already happened in like 1998.

Seen them live 3 times, none of which sucked. Met them twice. Totally approachable and friendly. They obviously "borrow" a lot from other artists, but they don't beat around the bush, which is nice. They're straightforward and deliberate no nonsense rock. No one's accusing them of being the most incredible lyricists or anything, but there's a great deal of talent in Noel's songwriting. And Liam has written more than his share of decent songs too. They'll obviously reconcile anyway.

I saw them within the last year and they put on a solid show despite the circumstances being less than ideal. I found Noel's on stage banter amusing as well.

Give them 5 or 10 years to cool down, they'll be back with a "reunion" album.

Besides, these days Solo Noel > Oasis

This is sort of how I always felt about it.

Also thought this had already happened.

well they had an impact and they were the first band for ages who had some personality over here and they are a bit of a national treasure now cos they have been one of the most successful uk acts ever.
they made good copy as the journos say and always good for a quote, noel is one the funniest intellignet blokes in uk music and liam is an unpredicatble idiot. they made a good team.

I'm glad I saw them in january. Great show! And perhaps the last opportunity ever.

But didn't they split up about a thousand times before?

I also just heard the Rolling Stones are retiring.
