View Full Version : Have you ever had one of those days that was like a movie?

a 90's movie...or maybe an 80's one.

I had a day like that yesterday, and it was really awesome and exhausting. It involved a t.v. studio, santa, an R&B bagpiper, getting interviewed by a puppet, getting a ride in a beat up pick up truck with a dude wearing a cowboy costume, walking walking and more walking, beautiful skies, singing on porches, drum set on a patio, light as a feather stiff as a board set to organ music, rock stars, lots of waiting, lots of yawning, lots of laughing, backstage, fist fights, tickle fights, a sack full of assorted panties, marker tattoos, and mad libs.

I was with a bunch of people, but it was like a middle school all day field trip where there were cliques and people getting to know each other and buddying up. My buddy was my dude guy who, as I have previously mentioned, turned down my make out invite a few weeks ago. Anyhoo, 15 hours together and we're a giggling best friend clump. Around 3 a.m., it was time to go home and we hugged and held on, and he said, "I like you", and I said, "aw, yeah, thanks for being my buddy today". and then he was like, "you were silly all day, I was pretty impressed." and then I said, "hey, I think we, just for today, JUST today, need to kiss on the lips." and he agreed.

by the way, it was probably the most fun, wholesome (minus the booze/smokes), and weird day I've ever had. it was like an episode of The Hogan Family crossed with the first season of Road Rules. this sort of thing never happens to me, usually I just ride my bike and go to work and maybe have some beers and look at the internet. so I don't mean to be like, "woo! my life's a party! yeah!" I guess I just wanted to write about it so I wouldn't forget.

I'm quite sure somebody on here has had a ridiculous day, at least one?

no, I'm talking about even adventure days, like goonie-esque.

or a day where you had something totally weird happen to you. I'm not looking for sensitive and girly really, just stuff that's out of the ordinary.

I don't know, just like stories about a great fun day you had.

*shrugs*

Way back i would have days like that(not the tv studio as such but just great random crazy days)-sounds fun DW -does that make me one of the sensitive chicks-cool!!

Nowadays i have days that are more like a Mike Leigh film:o

ok that sounds like i never have fun-actually having kids is mostly fun but i struggle with the day-in day-out drudgery sometimes. i always thought i'd never settle down and if i did have kids i'd still travel loads and show them the world and shit. i would take off with them now if i could but i guess they still need to see their dad!! being sensible completely sucks cock

Well its funny you should ask that question, last night i was walking thru a shopping mall car park feeling a bit sorry for myself and thinking i havent really done anything with my life.

At the other end of the car park i heard gunshots and then saw this big white van with what looked like terrorists on board and they were chasing this cool car that was going quite fast. i'd say just under 90 mph and then all of a sudden it disappeared and the terrorists shot this guy in a white coat.

Then about 10 mins later the car appeared again and the guy in the white coat got up and seemed to be ok as he walked home with a young lad in what looked like a life jacket.

I was so inspired i went home and wrote a science fiction novel. its amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it

I find that hard to believe.

Anyway, that's awesome DW. I actually had a conversation with someone recently about how I wanted to have an adventure of the Goonies or Ferris Bueller's Day Off sort and I never have. I hope there is one in my (near) future.

Somewhere John Hughes is even cringing at that.

I know, it was pretty gross!

(not the kiss, the kiss was lovely, just as I suspected!)

I'm pretty curious about how dude is going to act when I have to see him tonight. we've emailed each other about businessy things pertaining to our turtle farm today, but they were just regular emails, no flirts...just talking about burning down churches and piles of pants. which, actually, is kind of flirting I guess. because pants are sexy. :p:p:eek:

not even a copy paste of that dog porn, freeb? geez, you don't really like me very much, do you?

I guess my thread failed. :( my aim was to read a bunch of silly happy stories of stuff that happened to people, because I was in a good mood. oh well.

cosmo, that's one thing I liked about L.A., the weirdness level. that and the ocean. and the weather. and a pug I know that lives there.

'No' was the short version.

The long version was 'Unless it's a film about a man who is set up to be placed in as many infuriating scenarios as possible in order to make him snap, then no.'

I like you :)

one of those pics you posted looks like

"dont touch that thing on the table"
"ok"
*stomp stomp stomp*

"cut!"

i live for days like that

while travelling, the movie Easy Rider and the general feeling i get from the film is with me. Usually on longer road trips.
