BEST

I worked for a summer for a property developer who totally redesigned houses on the inside and dug basments. My job basically involved smashing shit. On my first day he gave me the keys to a new project, a big clawhammer and some gloves and gave me the instructions: everything out. It was a swanky flat in Fulham. I spent a few days ripping out fitted furniture, floors, shelves etc. Then came the instructions to rip out some walls. Tearing down a wall using a big hammer and your boots is much fun. So there I was in this place, all the internal walls are down and out, the skip outside is full of junk, nothing left inside... I'd even ripped every doorframe and skirting board out. I get given a jackhammer and told to take all the plaster off the walls. Awesome. Another good thing about this is that I'd be told what to do and pretty much left to my own devices for a few days, so I'd do the job as quick as possible and spend the next day or two drinking coffee, reading the paper, listening to the radio. I turned up massively hungover one day and slept it off on a mattress I'd left downstairs.

The last week I spent on another property painting with some Polish chaps. They enjoy tea breaks.

WORST

The worst job I've ever had was that of "Charity Telephone Fundraiser." Basically I rang old people up and tried to persuade them into giving £10 a month to charity. It was miserable and the system was on autodial, so as soon as one call finished the next number would ring. You had targets of how many direct debits you could get set up which is a tricky thing to peruade people to do. In the end I hated it so much I stopped going and decided being broke was more fun than telephone harrassment.

my current job/project assignment is sort of the best and the worst all rolled into one

i am doing construction inspection

best: watching other people do the manual labor, sort of being in charge in the fact that they have to do it the way you tell them too

worst: standing around for months at a time, the paperwork that goes with it, and occasionally having to be the bad guy and make some poor chap do the work all over again or in some more tedious manor

best job: worked at a place in the warehouse my sister was my boss, my cousin was a receptionist, I was 19 making 15 an hour which ain't bad at all paid for school all at once.

worst job: waking up at 2 am to work at UPS as a loader it keeps you in shape but those damn hours some nights worked with one hour of sleep.

Best- no doubt was a Chinese food delivery guy. The place was new and I was the only delivery person which meant my tips averaged up to $300 a busy night plus 8.75 I was making per hour.

I always got invited to parties and after work and I was basically my own boss with a lot of freedom.

Worst- correctional officer. Think about it, you sign yourself to be locked up for 12 hours a day and you have to put up with adult kids.

It's odd because the best one I ever got cost $50 up in Canada and the worst one I got was in a cramped bus ride up to a ski resort.

nevermind... I could of sworn the topic read Best blowjob/worst blowjob

My favorite job was my first job. I worked at a florist from ages 13 to 16. So much fun.

Worst was as a recruiter for a staffing agency. I was good at it, and my employers certainly took advantage of that. Super stressful, not rewarding at all, and I was "fired" a week after I put in my two weeks notice over some gossipy hearsay bullshit that didn't even happen. Those fuckers can eat a hefty spoonful of my ass.

I got another job right away instead. Unemployment should only be collected in a totally dire situation in my opinion.

Besides, they were experts at dodging that shit and I wouldn't have gotten anything anyways, it wasn't worth the hassle or time filling out the paperwork.

Dicks.

i hate the process of getting a job and i especially hate being the "new guy" not knowing what the hell you're doing. therefore i've only had 3 jobs.

my current job is the best i guess.

i work at a used cd/dvd store. i thought being around/selling things i love (music) would be nice.... but unfortunately i'm starting to realise that dealing with the dumb fuck public isn't helping with my ever-growing misanthropy.

but it's alright. the discount is nice.

In just over a week I'll be a trainee teacher. I'll let you know which category it falls into.

Best: working at a pizzareia with all of my friends growing up which also involved going out all night and delivering pizza hungover all day

Worst: NYS PIP III Rep for a major, multinational Insurance carrier (which I am currently involved in still). It's not the actual task of doing the job itself, it is the client contact. I deal with the families of people that either die, become horribly maimed, or in comas and shit after autoi accidents. Either I do it in person, or over the phone. Incredibly trying on the emotions at times, especially when children are involved. The worst part is sometimes, when the rapport is built, either informing them of a policy violation of why their claim is denied or that the coverage that they have is not enough, or that they simply do not have the coverage at all. I get a light case load, but in the position, I have more face time with the client, and am in terrible circumstances. It is rewarding at times, like when everything works out right and you're there them in their time of need. Get thank you cards a few months later. Get invited out to dinner and family parties. you would be suprised how close you can becomt to these people.

Best = Scientist

Worst = A tie between a Mover (just because of the bruising and cuts -- clumsy me) or a Waiter (just because some rich New Yorkers would treat me like shit when I was slow)

Best - Working at my parents chocolate shop during High School. All the jelly beans i can shove in my pocket, free lunches, and hot girls working the counter.

Worst - Working at my parents chocolate shop. Scrubbing the bathroom and washing chocolate molds with super hot water. Chocolate is a pain in your ass to wash off.

When you're washing your ass, chocolate should really be the least of your worries.

I had a job cleaning bouncy castles. You have to inflate a bouncy castle to clean it, and climb inside it further to that. Plus I was always wasted at work. Fun.

Still found a way to hate it. I hate them all. The best thing about dying will be no more fucking shit jobs working for cunts.
