I made the unfortunate discovery that my cat has been urinating on the rugs by my front and back door so while out shopping earlier, I stumbled onto something that had me laughing my ass off...

I grabbed the first pet urine remover that I saw and holy shit, get a load of the name:

Pawls Boutique

I took some snaps:

Should I still ask for Janice?

I'd ask Janice to put me in touch with a lawyer. Trademark infringement and/or dilution.

It's probably registered; if not, Capitol is slipping. But even if it isn't federally registered, commercial use of a mark, even without registration, establishes certain rights under state laws protecting against unfair competition.

I thought it looks like Paw's Boutique. It's just a fancy apostrophe. But whoever came up with the name is clearly a Beastie fan...

I think the fact that the Beastie Boys never had to pay for any of the samples on Paul's Boutique makes it OK for a company to call their cat product "Pawls Boutique" without having to ask for permission. Don't really see the big deal. I actually love the idea.

Like the Beasties didn't jack the name Paul's Boutique for the actual Boutique right. They Boys have jacked so much stuff and put their twist on it, I'm sure they wouldn't mind Pawls!

awesome find op.
now, all you would-be lawyers: the fact that it is differently spelled and has nothing to do with music makes it legally legit.

as a side note, there's this dog grooming place down the block from me called Snip Doggie Dog. I kid you not.

Speaking of Doggie.....

I snapped this pic a few months ago in the parking lot of BJ's in Deerfield Beach, FL
