Never heard of this and find it utter bullshit that this kind of "recruitment" is allowed. Welcoming impressionable people into "cyber killing zones" to promote a blatantly violent business model sounds quite unworthy of taxpayers dollars.
I don't know about you, but there are many young men and women (mostly men) who are quite vulnerable to videogame advertising - sad to say violent video games are fueling or creating mentally unstable individuals and these are more than likely the ones who would wander into something like this and be seduced into thinking that talents with a video game equate talents on the battlefield.
We know the military exists, we know they are necessary, we know they exploit, lie, and cheat their recruits into service, we know they leave behind their men and women after they donated their limbs, minds, and blood for their cause.

The AEC, the first in the US when it opened in August of 2008, is a high tech facility housing 80 video gaming stations and battle simulations. The Army touts it as an effort to educate the public about military life in the 21st century. Opponents charge that it represents an attempt to sugar coat the reality of war and to entice economically hard pressed young people to join the military. According the AP, the AEC costs $4 million
a year to operate and has, in fact, not fulfilled hopes in terms of boosting recruitment. Its expense, its failure to meet recruiting expectations, and the prominent presence of protesters all place the AEC’s future in doubt.
FOUR MILLION TO OPERATE AN ARCADE?
