I cannot soothe or hold baby’s worth a damn…yep…I don’t know if they pick up on my nervousness…or what…even if I think they’re super cute and I’d like to hold them…outside of my family, baby’s don’t dig me…how bout you?...it’s amazing,to me,watching how infants take to the feminine…is this universal for most women?...the ability to baby whisper?...or maybe just those who’ve mothered…I know it makes sense…baby’s are a smarter than I think..I think…also please don’t hand me a baby that needs changing...that’s foul play…

it is not universal for women.
I am the most awkward person with a newborn baby. Or any baby under a year old. They are so delicate and I feel so afraid that I am going to drop them that I just opt to never hold them. They can tell that I'm nervous too because they always start crying within a few seconds of being with me.
I can't handle babies.

the baby's what?
I'm good with babies, but I don't get all excited about them like some people. little kids who talk are more fun to hang out with.

The one who was passed to me this morning still has the soft spot on her tiny cabeza, thing going on...tiny hands though...I'm crazy for tiny hands, like when they grip your thumb...just can't cradle em'...

especially when you've seen them develop and they start calling you by name and trying to express things to you...so often hilariaous,I have to stop myself from laughing at them...(y)

I didn't really care much for babies until I had one. Now I think they're just super duper. Really fun. Too bad I'm not having any more.

Babies are cute for a reason.
I had a co-worker who used to say "Do you know when you have babies and they are so cute that you wanna eat them! When they grow up you regret you didn't eat them". She was crazy. Not just because of the comment.

I think it definitely is related to the baby picking up on your nervousness. If you chill, they'll chill.
I generally like holding babies.

Colleague say's they're extremely aware of pheromones and of course have heightened sensitivity to cologne,deodorants,etc...that would also make sense in explaining their general aversion to me...

I'm the same way. A friend of mine had a baby back in January. I was so awkward holding him. I just don't have that motherly instinct. No kids for me, thank you.

aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute
I was pretty uncomfortable holding babies when my niece was first born, mainly due to the fear of dropping them. I'm good now though.
I also find babys>toddlers look at me a lot at work. I'm like a magnet for them. I wave at them.
