Spent the last 2 days having interviews and tests for a job in military intelligence. Turns out I am actually pretty smart (always knew that, now it's on paper), I'm much better than I thought at giving presentations in front of an audience and in general I am seen as a likable and confident guy. Only 2 out of 5 candidates got accepted and I beat 2 Corporals and a Sergeant (I am a private)!

So yes, I am pretty goddamned happy today and ready to embark on a new step in my career.

I started my teacher training course yesterday. Of the 24 people on my subject, only four of us are MEN:cool: The rest are ladies:p

To be honest I was quite surprised about the result, the panel seemed really impressed with my presentation, which actually had no research and very little prior knowledge about the subject. But that may have helped me somewhat. The guys who did actually know about the subject from having worked with people in M.I. probably lost points from trying to drop technical terms and information into their presentations yet not actually be able to back up their facts with any real knowledge when they were questioned further.

Sure, there were I.Q tests, group tests, an essay on current affairs and a fitness test, but excelling in one or 2 of those obviously didn't guarantee the other applicants places. So fuck knows what I had what there were looking for! I guess I performed solidly in all areas.

It was even stated to us on the first morning that they were looking predominately for Corporals and Sergeants to fill many job gaps, yet at my level they have twice the number they need! They must definitely see me as a long term investment.
