If you like lots of SHOUTING and don't mind having a stinging headache for weeks afterwards, then it's fine.

However, if you prefer your comedy with a bit more subtlety, then you're probably better off elsewhere.

See also, The I.T. Crowd.

well it can't possibly be worse than the season of "Coupling" I bought a few weeks back...that's brutal...last week he had some "Father Ted" on the rack...I think I'll snag that if it's still there...

I'd definitely recommend Black Books...it's goofy and loud, I guess, but really fun. Simon Pegg's episode is probably my favorite.

I've been watching Spaced on Hulu, so I will give this one a try as well...

Black Books is pretty good. I.T. Crowd though, is awful.

There is a lot of shouting, but then again, not every comedy show has to have several layers and deeper meaning. Some of them I like because they're just plain silly, and this is one of them. The very first time I watched it I didn't think much of it tbh, but I gave it a shot and now it's one of my favourite shows. I've watched the DVD's many time and they're worth buying for the commentaries alone. (funniest DVD commentaries I've ever heard. No kidding.)
There are some great guest actors as well. Kevin Eldon as the Cleaner and Johnny Vegas as Fran's landlord are really good. And Nick Frost as the guy who installs their burglar alarm/soundproof door and happens to have a subbuteo player in his hair. <3
