Is it just me or is this song different on the remastered Hello Nasty?
I've got my original albums round my mums so won't be able to compare until wednesday but I'm sure it is..

Yeah. It's obv an earlier demo. A lot of the same rhymes/lines, but in a much different, and better sequence.
Umm.. I have the import of "Hello Nasty" from back then and it is the same song / different title. (They mention this on Wikipedie I believe)

My bad. Thought he was referring to the "experiment" track on the bonus disc. Carry on.

For some reasons the US and UK versions are different. I have the import (US) yellow vinyl and the chorus part changes, it was only hearing the commentary I remembered - I don’t know if it was a sample thing at the time, interesting...

I've only ever heard it with the GMF sample, so the one on the website was quite jarring to my delicate sensibilities.

As my memory serves me....
On the US version they switched up the hook, due to The Freestylers using the same sample as a hook in one of their songs during the same time. And the B-Boys didn't want to bite it.
The Import version is the OG version. I have both if anyone wants to hear them.

From what I remember when Hello Nasty Came out, it was another sample clearance thing. The sample is off an early Grandmaster Flash 12" called Superrappin' #2, when the group was still on the "Enjoy" label. In Europe, that record came out on different labels. Since the sample was left on the European versions but not the U.S. versions it might have something to do with the different labels having different ownership rights depending on the country and whether the owners in each country could be tracked down and bargained with. I know that with a couple of samples on that album the owners wanted too much money so the Beasties just changed the sample (e.g. the Snoop Dogg sample).

Thanks guys, good help.. (Wikipe-wha?)
I always wondered if there was a difference between these tracks other that the titles alone..
Being in the UK I prefer "Can't Won't Don't Stop" as have got to used to singing that damn chorus but it was still a nice surprise to hear a different mix in this package..
This reminded me of when I brought the Hello Nasty Instrumentals CD and was in wonder at the samples on "Three Mc's and One DJ" being different, (talking of which I'm sure that was Snoop Dogg too.. Will give it a listen when back home!)
Thanks again guys and gals! (y)
