I remember watching "one day at a time" when I was a kid.
She always weirded me out.
She always came off as shady to me.

I feel horrible for her if this is true, and I see a valid reason for going public...having an open discussion could help people in similar situations.


But the fact that she felt the need to throw an alleged affair with Mick into the story makes me suspicious.
Who cares if you banged Mick. That list is a mile long.
It's an obvious publicity stunt and makes me question the integrity of the whole story.

I agree. Also it is very liberating to cast light on a dark secret. The weight of carrying something like this around is excruciating - it consumes your life. When you get to a point where you can open up and put it out there for all the world to see and say "this happened to me", suddenly the secret loses it's power; you can no longer be blackmailed into guilt and shame for fear that everyone will know, because hey, now everyone knows, and the world keeps on turning, and you keep on breathing, and it's going to be OK.

And as far as selling books, you know, I have no problem with that. This is her story, she owns it, it's her experience and she has the right to write it down and sell it for as much as she can get for it if she so chooses.

I knew this ages ago but I don't remember how. I read her dad's book but it wasn't in there. I think he alluded to hooking her up with Mick Jagger though. Even from his own perspective, the guy was a creep.

I generally hate when people come out with this stuff after a parent is dead. It's impossible to know what's true. I buy this one though, because both of the players were obviously fucked up for a long time.
