At times I feel the same way, I check these boards often hoping for some news, well, actually I always hope for another youtube video from the guys giving a good update on Yauch and that he's doing well and then I hope for them to drop a bomb and be like ok suckas, HSC is coming out tomorrow...

Then I feel bad and start to realize what Yauch is going through and I feel selfish and I think about how cool it is that we at least get some updates, not all artists care about their fans like the beasties, but yeah, out of general love for their music, I think we're all hoping for some news on the album....

Don't be so selfish. I am a nurse and have been working with cancer patients for over 10 years. MCA needs time to recover...and that could be soon or it could be next year. The rest of the guys understand this. The album will be released when the band is back to 100% capacity.

I'm sure there are plenty of other things you could do with your time.

Pardon me for making you the target of a tirade, but no one here thinks that HSC coming out is more important than Yauch getting healthy. There is nothing wrong with jonesing for the new material. I can't get over the amount of uppity bullshit that goes on when someone dares to look beyond Yauch's illness. Labeling someone selfish for having the audacity to long for normalcy (and Yauch's complete recovery) seems self-righteous and sanctimonious. Should the fact that you are a nurse and have dealt with the pain and tribulations of cancer patients give you the right to chastise others for the crime of wanting everything to be good again? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I am really asking.

These threads are symptomatic of our distress over Yauch's illness. We all agree on the same thing though -- we want Yauch to be better and a critically acclaimed LP by our favourite band on the shelf ASAP. No one is being selfish here. I think many of us are distressed by Yauch's illness and it shows (or at least I am feeling it in my regular life). This is natural when someone cares or has experienced loss in the past. I think the best thing we can do for Yauch and the band is to send thoughtful words (or prayers) and keep the BBMB interesting any way we can (e.g., cool posts, links, remixes etc.).
