Box of Franzia:

The cool thing about this one is that it had a strategically placed working spigot that dispensed Franzia. In the interest of equal opportunity exploitation I have posted photos here of both men and women making use of it. None of these people are me.

Edit: The other great thing about this one is that you could put your drink down on it. He'd just walk around with his beer sitting on his shoulder all night. Pretty sweet.

The Price is Right guy is my fav.

The Franzia box is pretty simple, I think he did the whole thing in about an hour. I'm guessing it's just a large box papered over. I think he did the Franzia artwork with water colors. As for the working spigot, I'm actually not sure. He might have just used a real spigot from a real box of Franzia. 'Course, he's an engineer so he probably rigged up something pretty slick.

I posted this in the beastie-free halloween thread already but anyways, I'm going to go as a "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" character for halloween.
I'm a geek and had my high-school graduation gown hand-made in the style of empire-waisted regency gowns ala Jane Austen era. That was almost 10 years ago now and luckily enough it still fits!
Im going to attempt a sweet up-do, get a white apron and splatter it with blood (i dont wanna destroy my dress entirely), get some white elbow gloves and shred them/stain them with blood, and throw on some zombie makeup.

Im sure noone will get it, but fuck it. Last year I had a totally recognizable costume and Im lucky if 2 people all night guessed correctly right away

I knew about it and thought about it for Halloween, but ya know, I do study English, so whenever anything even slightly connected to British Literature is released, people in my class will talk about it. I dunno how popular it is amongst 'normal' people though.
I wish I could go as a Victorian zombie, but there's just no way I can find a dress like that for a reasonable price and in my size. :(
Oh well, I s'pose I just have to be a 'normal' zombie again...

Or maybe I could go as one of the zombies from Dead Set. How do you dress up as a member of the Big Brother house?

but id be happy if 1/12 of the people i run into actually know who green man is. its a risky costume. truly a bomb ass costume to those who know and respect the greenman, but you just look like a freak to everyone else.

i found out you can drink beers while wearing greenman so thats all that matters.

i ended up paying way too much for g man. but to me its worth it. your only young once. the money i pay for g man is not crushing my retirement fund know what im saying. plus i can wear it for the rest of my life.

It's so funny that he chose to add the $1 to his bid. That's such a jackass move but only someone who is into the show would think to add that much detail. Really creative idea and like you said, seems easy and cheap.

I can never think of good costume ideas. The best one I did was the year I went as Christina Aguilera in the Dirrty video (though I was more covered up than she is).

It wasn't cheap but it was sort of easy to do. I bought a blonde wig and a black wig and just cut pieces off the black wig and braided them into the blonde one, I got some chaps and used yellow and white painter's tape to create some of the biker detail. I wore a tube top and boy shorts instead of a bikini (this was before i got really slutted out on Halloween) and used the painter's tape to make detail on those too. I got lots of compliments on it. And there was a chick at the party I went to that was dressed up as Britney in the I'm A Slave 4 U video. We took pictures together.

he collected scrap paper and tore it up and made pulp out of it, then bleached and dyed it yellow, then chopped it up even more and put it through a complicated series of flattening machines to make it into a smooth handmade paper. he then went deep sea diving and captured a squid for ink. he filled half a walnut shell with squid's ink and drew the black lines and name with a stylus he fashioned from the squid's endoskeleton. He then cut out the price tag shape with his teeth. He attached the name tag to his shirt with a rice paste that he carefully warmed and mixed with a double boiler over an outdoor fire pit.

problem: i'm obviously clueless about how to build a halloween costume (i had to ask the internet about how to draw scratchmarks for god's sake). i want to make this happen and fast and cheap how do i built costume. i have the suit and tie (obviously) but for the rest, i don't have a clue

also i feel like the wings would be mildly cumbersome for an indoor party, how do i deal with that

I was also a matador this year but I forgot to take photos because I'm forgetful. And Frida only has one photo because I lacked time to take any more on a regular camera. Sigh. Oh well they all turned out alright :) I was able to use my hair flowers that I already owned and clothes I already owned for everything. Cheapest costumes EVER!

eh i didn't want to do anything permanent to myself for a one day thing. no polaroid because i couldn't be arsed to find one - didn't they stop making those?
