so, I downloaded this Lyrical Gem from Adrocks blog, up until now I always knew about it but could never find it. Man, worth the wait, complete classic hip hop, Mike D was right:
It's Like Harlem World Battles On The Zulu Beat Show
It's Kool Moe D Vs. Busy Bee There's One You Should Know
Damn, thanks Mike.......

That battle was wicked. Kool Moe Dee laid him out.
KMD laid everyone out and it highly underrated. I hope LL pisses him off again so he'll come out of retirement.

Wow it seems like the Beasties took most of their lyrical inspiration form this battle!
Anyone know the name of the track Busy Bee starts his main rap over? Not the one where gets the crowd going and asking them to clap their hands, but where he starts his part of the battle? That's some amazingly funky shit.

If anyone REALLY wants it - I have the FULL hour and half battle recording.
And for Club Molecule - that backing track sounds like a studio reproduction ( it was common then - check the wildstyle soundtrack) but that drum beat alone - that is the same pattern as "Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner.

Tremendous, but nowhere near the best Busy Bee battles around. If anyone is interested I have the entire 1985 New Music Seminar on mp3. It was an MC battle tournament and a beatbox tournament as the opening attraction. The final was Busy Bee vs Roxanne Shante and that shit was DOPE.

Treacherous Three did a studio reproduction of Heartbeat when they did their own track called "feel the heartbeat" (Kool Moe D was part of the Treacherous 3).

Going back and listening I think its the Tanya Gardner version Busy is warming up to.
The next track (with the west coast funk sound) is "Making Cash Money" by Busy Bee.
