i feel that i am probably lacking in this department, but i do not feel any dirtier for this.
and the time frame i am looking for would assume that the same sheets would be returning to the bed after the wash.
Bed sheets once a week - turn my mattress to for that.
Towels I'll wash after two uses for a shower. I change the hand towels in the bathroom every few days.
My house-mates think I have OCD for this, I just think too much about the bacteria and what my towels and sheets go through with me using them.

I try to change my bedsheets once a week...but sometimes it ends up being two weeks.
I usually use a bath towel for 3-4 showers.

Weekly...but more frequently if the luvin is good...because sex is only dirty if you're doing it right...10% of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead dust mites and their droppings...cleanliness is next to healthiness...

fuck! 10%?! ew!
I don't wash mine nearly enough, but I also don't sweat very much and they are rarely squirted with body juices. I do occasionally drool however, so I wash my pillow cases more often.
I'd say my sheet gets washed about every 3 months. :(
I know I know, I got mites all up in my business. :(
I need to clean better now that I have a semi-regular guest though. He doesn't need to lie in my filth.
towels...used to be after 2 showers, but now it's probably 5-7.
god, I'm so gross. I blame my ex, he never washed anything and I just kind of got used to it and thought, "oh yeah, it's fine to let it go another few days." bleh.
That 10% stuff is bullshit btw. Its just put about by the bedding manufactures to sell more mattresses and pillows.

Actually that's right to an extent...but it has to do with climate...for example in arrrid regions like mine theres very few or a minimal amount of mites because they require damp, dark and humid conditions to thrive...I remember seeing a advertising campaign by a bedding store that featured a magnified mite and this cat from the health region called them out on it saying they're virtually non existent here unless you'd moved from somewhere else and even then he said they'd die within a month...

Towels after 2 showers?! WTF! I shower 3 times a day sometimes so that'd be no good.
clean towels are nice.
If I showered three times a day though I would just use one a day.

Hey...Am I the only one who checks into a hotel room and calls the desk to request new bed sheets, more towels,a new remote, removal of the bed spread,a bottle of bourbon,a bucket of ice,3 limes,2 lemons and a paring knife sharpened to a hone?
Moot, how do you know where those lemon and limes have been before hand? I hope you wash them before using them. Also when the maid comes make sure you ask to to shower before she changes your sheets - you dunno what she was dealing with before hand.

I'm not some OCD showering freak or anything, but I shower in the mornings regardless and also after a PT session and depending if I get dirty from working on vehicles. Still don't change the towels each day though. I only use a towel when I'm clean from the shower, so how is it going to get dirty in a day? I have a heated towel rack so it's as good as new by the time I come to use it again.

The bourbon suits a dual purpose of cleanser and pacifier...everytime I ask a maid to shower they ask me to leave...and quite frankly I think that's inconsiderate on their behalf...
I'm not some OCD showering freak or anything...
Oh, I wasn't saying that - sorry to imply. When I used to work a dirty job and go training I probably showered three times a day at least. But yeah, I am a OCD freak on some things and would use just one towel a day.
I'm OCD when I am not in control of my environment - like at doctors offices I 'm screaming inside when people start picking up and reading the magazines as they lick their fingers to turn the page, put it down for the next patient to do the same thing. Or in public buildings I will use my elbow to call lifts or I won't touch the hand rail.

i once got a yeast infection from a dirty towel so now im only using bathrobes anymore
problem solved.
question for the people who wash their sheets weekly or biweekly - are you having regular sex in that bed? if i had that i'd wash them more often too but as it is i probably do it once every couple of months. it's just a pain in the ass to get them back on the bed, i can never do the corners right and i always forget which end is supposed to go lengthwise
I don't have regular sex but I masturbate more than any other wanker on this planet.

I don't masturbate in bed, so don't have to worry about that. I change my sheets every 2 weeks or so I guess.

We don't always have sex in the bed. ;)

I change my towels after 3 or 4 times, I guess. I only have 2 towels, so I usually wait untill I can do the dark-coloured laundry and then another day until it's dry.
My bedsheets I change every 2 or 3 months. Nothing happens in there and I'm the only one that sleeps in it, so as long as it doesn't stink I usually don't bother changing it. Unless I get visitors, then I want to make sure everything is totally clean, because I don't want my friends to see what a disgustoid I really am.
Having said that, I have improved since I live on my own. When I still lived with my parents I only changed my sheets twice a year.

I usually leave the bed sheets as is because the maids seem to put clean ones on the bed. I've never seen one that looked or smelled like it wasn't clean.
I won't go near the bedspread. I fold it up and put it someplace. I can't stand to have my skin touch it. I only need extra towels if someone else is staying in the room with me. I rarely touch the remote control with my hands. I'll get a kleenex if I need to touch the buttons. I don't watch much TV when I travel though.
I tend to avoid lemon and lime in drinks because I don't like where they've been. But I like your idea of getting the whole fruit because then you can wash it yourself. But it would still be too much bother and I don't usually eat or drink in my hotel room.
At home, I change the bed sheets every other week unless it's been really hot. I change my pillow cases at least once a week. I change my towels about every third time I shower. I only use a washcloth once. I have loads of them. I change my dishtowels every day--I have dozens of them--really thin ones that are easy to launder.

Towels once a week and bed sheets every couple of weeks. I just love the feeling of clean bed linen and would do it more often if I had time/weather/cleaning & ironing lady/man.

Do Americans think that all people do in hotel rooms is masturbate/have sex over everything?
Haven't you ever seen those shows where they go to hotel rooms with black lights? People may not be having sex everywhere in them, but there sure is a lot of bodily fluids spread through out the rooms.
Towels once a week but I used a different towel every couple of days.
Sheets depend on how good and durdy the week was. OHHH SCHNAPP! so basically once every three weeks.

everyone here is making me feel so dirty
although i tend to do a load of laundry every week now, so i could easily just add the towel in with it....i think i wash my dish towels more than my washcloths though. but mostly because those fuckers are truly disgusting
The way I see it with bath towels is that its drying off something clean and if you hang them up to dry after use they don't get all weird smelling so technically you can probably go for a while without washing those....right?

Yeah, exactly. Unless you use your towels for something else...

Yeah, I saw one of those shows about 20 years ago and it scarred me for life.
