So the wife and I are at the train station to go to Flushing and we are involved in a conversation which distracted us from which direction we were going so we ended up swiping through the turnstiles for the manhattan bound train rather than the flushing bound train.
So we walk out and to the attendant and informed him of our mistake. He was on the phone taking with someone and I tell him politely that we accidentally swiped for the wrong direction.
He moved his head from the phone and said, "what?" really cocky like and then he rolled his eyes and shook his head as if I was bothering him.
I then asked what's with his attitude and he starts yelling, "I see people do this all day long! Why can't people pay attention!! Can't people learn to read!!"
He was going on and on and I'm just looking at him and saying, "wow, this is ridiculous, just wow" and my wife is oddly looking at him too.
So he swipes us through and continues throwing a fit.
I'm wondering- how hard of a job is it to sit at a booth and issue tickets and help people? Is it that hard that you have to be a complete asshole over something as simple as that? It's his job to deal with people who fuck up just like I did. As he says, he sees it all day long so I suppose it's part of his job.
Regardless, I'm going back and getting his name and making a complaint to MTA. He happens to work at the station that I frequent everyday because it's my neighborhood station.
I do not appreciate paying $80 per month and being treated like some dirtbag while using transportation. It's not like I always do this, in fact, this is the first time I have made this mistake.
