Yauch this mainly directed at you, and the only reason why is you have openly mentioned during visit to India your interest. As a Buddhist myself I thought that you would my story interesting. Normally I don't talk about my beliefs in religion or politics. But a counselor at my school brought up the subject of religion and pushed the issue furthur by telling me she was going to send me Christian literature. Not wanting it to get out of hand I felt as if I needed to stop this madness and tell her "sorry but I'm Buddhist". Amazingly she launches into the whole "you’re going to burn in hell", "I'm here to save your soul", and the big topper "there is only 1 true God!". I think the strangest comment she made was “Buddha is the god of light and so was Satan before being cast from heaven, therefore Buddha and Satan are in one in the same". As you can imagine this exchange shook me to my core. And I have yet to go back to school because of this counselor. Yauch as a person in the public light more than myself do you also run into this same problem? And do you think there is a better way for me to handle this senstive subject? Or do you think Buddhist will always be persecuted?
