I think most of you will get a kick out of this. My wife is a registered Republican and got this "survey" in the mail yesterday from the RNC. The slant and bias in the wording of the questions is so leading that we couldn't help but find it amusing. All questions had boxes to mark for Yes, NO and Undecided.

Here it is word-for-word except maybe a few typos.

INSTRUCTIONS: Please complete your RNC Congressional Distric Survey in its entirety and then return it to me at party headquarters using the enclosed reply envelope within the next 14 days. Your answers will represent ALL Republican constituents living within your Congressional District and underwrite our Party's campaign to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate in 2010, so be certain to answer each question carefully and honestly.

1) Do you support the Obama Administration's efforts to eliminate further testing and development of an intercontinental missle defense system?

2) Should Republicans continue fighting congressional Democrats' efforts to grant full unconditional amnesty to illegal immigrants?

3) Do you agree with Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi's efforts to impose massive tax hikes on the American people?

4) Do you believe that the federal government should maintain a permanentt ownership stake in large American banks?

5) Are you in favor of the federal government using tens of bllions more of your tax dollars in an effort to further bailout the U.S. auto industry?

6) Do you support expanded exploration and drilling for fossil fuels off the U.S. coast and on federal land?

7) Do you support Democrat's efforts to create a massive new federal bureaucracy that would be run by unionized government employees and would have complete control of your healthcare costs and choices?

8) Should Republicans in Congress make expansion of veteran's benefits a priority?

9) Do you support maintaining anti-terrorism laws that give law enforcement and intelligence agencies the far-reaching powers to track, detain and prosecute terrorists and their accomplices?

10) Should the U.S. government normalize relations with Cuba?

11) Do you believe Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress have the best interests of you, your family and your community in mind?

12) Do you beleive that American businesses and industry will be able to compete in the world economy if the Obama Administartion bends to pressure from radical environmentalists and implements draconian regulations on emissions, energy consumption and transportation beyond what is required in other industrialized countries?

13)Do you support raising the age for eleigibility for Social Security benefits?

14) In your opinion, should Democrats like Representative Barney Franks and Senator Chris Dodd, who were in charge of congressional oversight committees that refused to pass regulations on banks and financial institutions like Fannie Mae and Freedie Mae (that's not a typo!) share responsibility for the housing crisis caused by high risk mortgages?

15) Do you beleive that the nation's Founding Fathers intended for the federal government to micro-manage state and local functions such as setting education standards, health care, child care and unemployment insurance?

16) Do you feel that Democrat control of both chambers of Congress and the Presidency will make our nation more prosperous, safe and free?

17) Are you ready to actively support Republican candidates in your area and across the country who are fighting to stop the liberal Obama agenda and resinstitute conservative Republican policies such as personal responsibility, lower taxes, cutting government waste and keeping our defense strong?

Then it asks for a donation to the RNC.

I know this is blatantly more of request for money than a real survey of public opinion but GOD DAMN! That shit is crazy. Herein lies all of the Republicans problems right now...telling people what to want instead of listening to what they want. Plus in 20 years of sales of one type or another one of the fundamental rules of professional selling is to NEVER BASH THE COMPETITION. This survey had ansolutely nothing to say about the benefits of the Republican platform. It solely presented negatives about Democrats and the President not to metion a whole bunch of blatant untruths and the usual fear mongering. Anyhow I though you'd all enjoy this insanely poor excuse to drum up support for the RNC.(n).
