This has been in development for over a year, surely you must of heard of it before now? Or you may of forgot I suppose. The headline is fucking stupid though, they ain't attacking it or bombing it or doing anything other than trying to make space travel more accessible and cheaper. Yes, they are crashing a craft into a crater to create another crater to observe a cloud but it's tiny in comparison to the other shit the moon taken for millions of years before that.

Its a cheap way of finding out a lot about if there is water there as the cloud can be monitored from earth (can't be seen with the naked eye though). If so, a moon base can be made in which missions even further out can be launched. Also, part of the project is using 'off the shelf' parts, which is why its so been so damn cheap and quick to do relatively.
