That boring? Missed it but was gonna peep the 9PM replay. I kinda feel the same about Kid, but roots is roots. I never cared for him but respect him, I guess.

Yep. Kid Rock jumped the shark about...a month after Bawitaba became popular. He pretends he came from a trailer park when in actuality he grew up in a mansion and his dad is some millionaire type. I am really not a fan of his at all.

Ok....re: the No Sleep Performance...
I appreciate the "freestyling" and the bboys shout outs...but did that motherfucker Wale really just "they call me Adam Yoach but I'm MCA?" Yes, he did. "Yoach." Dude....not impressed.

Eeek....show is going downhill. Warren G looks like he woke up from a nap about 20 secs before the performance. Tre Songs singing over Nate Dogg on the track is kinda whack. Fake ass gangster clothes too. (n)

Public Enemy and KRS performances were good, little Beastie cameo/interview thing was kinda funny, rest of the show. Meh....
Kid Rock, you've got to hand it to that guy, he's wears many musical hats, and he isn't really terrible at any of them.. Saw some MTV show with him playing a concert in the middle of the street, NYC I think, and he played every instrument on that stage, guitar, drums, turntables, etc. As cocky as he seems sometimes he has some skills. The Kangol hat and the dookie chain was a bit much though.... :-|
As it was the Def Jam special I was hoping to see Slayer playing, with someone rhyming over them.... Growing up, Def Jam to me meant Beastie Boys and Slayer. (I didn't grow up Hip-Hop, But I loved the Beasties)
DMX, really, does anyone really listen to this guy?

Does anyone have a link to the beastie boys' interview/cameo from last night's show..? And yes, I too feel the show has gone down hill with the performers and that reflects the state of hip hop going down hill....

the beastie 'interview' was extra footage from when they were honored in '04....
btw...they should of had Tla Rock open up the show....

I enjoyed the show. Im 35 and grew up with Def Jam. I could have done without the Gym Class Zeros. The Roots killed it all show as did Jazzy Jeff. Black Thought with Eminem was a gem! And the return of EPMD.
But the true question is- What was more fake, Foxy Brown's eyelashes or tits?

What's wrong with that? Good thing he can do others things then just hip hop.

I saw Kid Rock in Boston a few years ago, he was all over the stage playing all of the instruments also along with the many styles of music he performed. If that isn't talent, I don't know what is... Dude was DJing parties and clubs in 1987 when he was the only white dude there. I can relate to alot of what this dude is like. I am not a huge fan, but he has a lot more talent then most rap artists out there.
Slayer should have played "Angel of Death" lick from Public Enemy's "She Watch Channel Zero" and had PE or someone rhyme over it.. THat would have been sick. I love both artists.

T La Rock can STILL BRING IT as well as he did twenty years ago..
Was he there? I couldn't watch it last night.
Here's the audio from it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SARCP-Kgz_Y
It was nice to see hip hop that I know being played on tv. Doesn't happen much these days.
Also, Mary J. dancing? I don't think I've ever seen that before.
