The DUKES OF HAZARD!
I dunno to many good movies to count as a kid I enjoyed Happy Gilmore and the Mighty Ducks. I think there should be a line between best comedy sports movie and drama.
For Drama its an easy pick, Rocky. Most of it's series were good.
For Comedy.... I just cant pick one.

Rocky.
I agree. Done on a shoestring by someone who at the time was a relative unknown. The movie has heart and is not only uplifting, it is a true work of life imitating art as it launched Sly's career and many future successes.

I can't help but weep like a little girl everytime I see it when he leads the team out of the tunnel in front of his father and dickhead brother who both told him he'd never make it on the team.
Rudy is a fine story.
They could have had Ralph Malph play that part and it still would have ruled.

This was just released Monday for free online it is called SonicsGate (http://sonicsgate.org/) and is free. It is definitely awesome if you're a bitter Sonics Basketball fan, but even ir you're not it is a fascinating look at how the NBA works.
Starbucks owner Howard Schultz bought the Sonics in the nineties and basically charged too much for regular folks to watch basketball and even though he owned 15,756 stores in 44 countries he was unable to somehow find a Center for our Basketball team. Fuckhead! So he sold the team, the city and the fans completely out to Oklahoma!
NBA commissioner David Stern was even douchier that usual.
Filmed in HiDef and on a strong server it is awesome.
Review (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/stevekelley/2010028120_kelley09.html) and explanation for why the film is free,
This isn't some get-rich-quick scheme of a few local documentarists. They aren't picking over the dead remains of the Sonics in the pursuit of a buck.
Brown said "99 percent" of this project is altruistic. He said the moviemaking process, for him, was "cathartic."
"We could put it up [on the Web] and charge 99 cents, or $1.99 and people would possibly pay for it," producer-director Reid said, "but that means we're probably going to get like one-twentieth of the amount of people to see it.
"What would be the point of that? Just so we could make a buck or two? Our whole purpose is to get the story out so that everybody in the country and the world can see what happened here. We want to get the story out there. Get it told."
These guys feel as if there already is too much greed in the Sonics' saga. They don't want to add to this money grab.
"We're doing this for the right reasons," editor Lund said. "For the passion, for the history, for the story. We're putting it out there and saying, 'Yeah, it's not always about money.' It can't always be about money."
When people leave the theater tonight, they won't feel buoyed. They won't feel as if a new team is waiting around the corner. This film is about loss, and watching it is about grieving that loss.
"It's kind of a downer," Brown said.
The kind of downer, every Sonics fan, every fan of the NBA needs to see.
Oh yeah and "North Dallas Forty"
