I am trying to manage this project and it feels like it has spun completely out of control. I am trying to think what I could have done to prevent this from happening. I am not sure it can be recovered at this point. I've been trying to get the attention of the lead person to get things going for over a month and for a variety of reasons he just could not be engaged. And now he's engaged but it's almost too late. And I'm sitting here wondering if there was something more I could/should have done to get him or others engaged and my approach has been all wrong and I just feel completely insecure.

What kind of project is it?
Is it a diorama?

It's a grant proposal with 5 subcontracts.

They'd probably get more done if you weren't so preoccupied with trying to get your co-workers to marry one another LOL!

only 5? thats nothing!
is there a due date for all of this? or are you the ones setting the dates?
there's always something you can alter to make it work some how. if it ends up that you miss the proposal date, then so be it.
Can't you threat - no1 gets paid if this doesn't come together. And no1 gets rep unless they starting pulling their thumb out of their arse.
I'm no longer the one to charge at work anymore, rather be a sheep, get paid less and not take work home with me. Its just no fun when work becomes life. Hope you pull through somehow.

Well the thing is done and out the door.
Usually there is a euphoria that follows on these things but today it escapes me.
All I can do is sit here and cry and wish that someone would take pity on me and kill me.

Yeah the only other option would have been to change all the dates in the project plan lol

hmm. well, I guess my day wasn't so bad after all. I'm not crying or anything.
although, trying to teach 6th graders how to use photoshop while they're all hopped up on halloween treats is pretty frustrating.

That sounds like fun. I tried to teach my former boss how to use photoshop last February. He became frustrated because he couldn't catch on to it quickly and work with it like I could. He laid me off a few days later.

Yep, same shit I'm going through. It's the "I've got bigger things to do rather than taking mind to your worries."
I'd just contact HR. It helps build a voice that can't be ignored.

Bitch Pu-Lezzz! You wanna talk about work stress I've managed to singlehandedly lose 60% of my $ in 2 months. I'm dangerously close to being Officially Fucked: Selling Umbrellas under a Bridge

This Past Week was my Worst Ever. Everything I've done has been bad. It'll take more Luck than Skill to trade my way outta this mess.
Peace and Good Luck to All
