Those Irish love Don't Stop Believin'. The last time I was over there a couple years ago, heard it on the radio at least once every hour....then the crowds went nuts when it was played in pubs. I don't get it.

It's cos when you're drunk, you feel like anything is possible; you can solve all your problems and conquer the world etc. And everybody knows that the Irish are always drunk so they really dig this kind of thing nahmean?

Did you feel inspired, possibly even American for a moment? I won't laugh if you shed a tear.

OK, I apologize and I over-reacted, even with both videos I'm still undecided, one seems to evoke a fresh day in America where the other song holds on to traditional values, yet still rocks the haus.

I am getting closer to my decision with each listen though.

I'm still on the fence myself. Sort of leaning towards Journey, though. The soaring high notes aren't quite as high as the high notes on Livin' on a Prayer, however.

Those Irish love Don't Stop Believin'. The last time I was over there a couple years ago, heard it on the radio at least once every hour....then the crowds went nuts when it was played in pubs. I don't get it.

A DJ over here started a campaign to get it to number one in the charts after it was used in the Sopranos, and thus the mania started.

I became one of those "i used to like this before everyone" assholes then, and I would loudly tell anyone who would listen of how i've been listening to it for years.

I then changed tact and became a "its not even Journeys best song, "Anyway You Want It" is".

Also, "Faithfully" is a better Journey ballad.

I think Lights is the best Journey ballad.

This is a conundrum. I don't know which I'll choose.

It might have to be Livin on a Prayer because there's just been such a resurgence of interest in Don't Stop Believing since the Sopranos thing. I feel like Don't Stop Believing has already gotten its love. Also, I have a soft spot for the blue collar us against the world imagery of Livin on a Prayer.

Of course I also love the imagery of loser misfits finding solace in each other that exists in Don't Stop Believing.

Why is this so hard?

damn it, no.

I think perhaps I went out too much when I was 21/22. Every. Single Bar. Every. Single. Night. Everyone. Way. Too. Excited. For. Either. Song.

My eyes glaze over everytime and I immediately want to leave. It's not cute nor ironic nor funny anymore.

It doesn't have to be cute, ironic or funny to be awesome.

Also, Lights and Faithfully do not have SHIT on Don't Stop Believin'.

Furthermore, Neil Diamond does not in any way, shape or form qualify to be brought up in this discussion, any which way or how, for the very reasons that were cited by nodanaonlyzuul (which the two songs I've narrowed it down to are completely exempt from).

Two songs so equal in awesomeness

This is the riddle wrapped in a mystery in an enigma riding the horns of a dilemma surrounded by a quandary, how does one cone to terms with such awesomeness?

I've done the mashup (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5xsiKBJGW4)
