My boss is really phony and self-promoting. All she cares about is schmoozing and sucking up to people in power, and earning certificates and other bullshit recognition for her business society memberships and public speaking organizations - which she will gladly tell you all about. Snore.

When it comes to her actual job, she knows nothing and doesn't care to learn. I knew from the beginning that she saw this job as just a stepping stone toward something better but I was at least hoping she'd invest a little into doing her best while she's here.

She's messing up all over the place, using our resources to benefit herself by using our money to send herself to seminars on leadership - the content from which she will not absorb at all, it's just about how she looks on paper. And she's never any help the way she's supposed to be as our supervisor. She's useless, and all about appearances. I just hope other people can see through her facade. Her method is probably how so many people become rich and successful without ever actually doing anything of any good to anything but their own resumes.

I wish there was a way I could make her look bad without looking bad, myself. How do I do that?

i dont think its worth spending any energy on. if she's a nightmare and fake then she'll get found out in the end but you should just really keep your head down and do as best you can but just make sure its known you did the work. she'll get found out eventually

or just wait till she's away from her desk when no ones around and start emailing bosses with filth from her pc. ha ha , that rubbish idea is all i got

(y)if you do anything you are just reducing yourself to her level, being underhand and deceptive and not true to yourself. take the higher moral ground etc

Didn't bother reading much past the first paragraph of the OP but it sounds like a great way to shit on your career and also spend a lot of energy on negative shit that won't really benefit you.
