Obama's Careful Consideration on Afghanistan Is Warranted (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/02/us/02iht-letter.html)

Sort of expected English usage from an old guy. So is Dick Cheney really the somebody you ask advice from? Especially about war policy? I mean for fuck sakes is Dick Cheney even considered a patriot?

Plus now Liz Cheney is trying to out Cheney her Dad with recent criticism of Obama's salute (http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2009/11/02/alg_fallen-soldiers_barack-obama.jpg) to recently arrived KIA @ Dover.

here is an excerpt from Maureen Dowd's excellent column 11/1/09 from the NYTimes, Port Mortuary’s Pull (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/01/opinion/01dowd.html)

Michelle had gone up to New York to watch the World Series opener with Jill Biden and Yogi Berra.

The president had dinner at the White House with Sasha and Malia. Then, shortly before midnight, he donned a dark overcoat, boarded Marine One and flew to Dover Air Force Base.

On the tarmac in the darkness, he stood at attention, saluting, as 18 flag-draped cases were taken off an Air Force C-17 and carried to Port Mortuary by military teams in camouflage fatigues and black berets.

The Halloween-eve parade of death included casualties from America’s most horrific day in Afghanistan in four years, and its bloodiest month of the war.

It may have been a photo op, another way Obama could show he was not W., the president who started the Iraq war in a haze of fakery and then declined to ever confront the reality of its dead.

If anyone wants to talk about dithering it shouldn't be Cheney and Bush, they seemed to dither about when a warning that Osama was going to strike and look how that ended!

Liz Cheney - proof that conservatives/republicans will listen to anyone as long as they're on "their side"

Cheney should go back to his cave....or better yet Prison.

I think that the death of the Republican rule must actually mimic the same phases of personal loss like a close death, loss of job, etc.

Shock

Anger

Sadness

Reality

Because just a few short months ago someone would defend poor old Dick and his equally charming daughter Liz as keepers of the Republican light who shine it on Obama as he dithers. Seems like now we must of entered the sadness or reality phase of Democratic rule...

Or maybe, just maybe most of those who defend complete assholes like Cheney realize he isn't all that much of a citizen after all.
