Amen... the only thing is getting the munchies for me means a hunger that NEVER ENDS. Especially with anything with rice, ie indian, as its full of carbs and they as you know make you feel more hungry... and the vicious cycle continues.

But yeah I might get high now thanks for the tip

My greatest single thing that happened to me was meeting Darth Vader years ago when David Prowse was doing a book signing but walked a mile to the store dressed as Darth VAder to greet hundreds of excited kids.I'd say shaking Darth Vader's hand was the most excited I've ever been, ever.Especially as I was about 9 or something.

why would I take anything personally from someone who goes out of their way to point out certain poster's opinions or posts as something that you might not approve of ? i love that line and thought it was appropriate. I'm sorry for ruining the integrity of Beastie Free discussion or breaking the "you aren't a true fan if you like TT5B" rule

There's no way any vindaloo, jalfrezi or aloo gobi is f'ing with tikka masala. We're not just talking about some pathetic butter chicken here.

We had a diwali social hour at work here recently and I had something that was so gloriously delicious. It was a spherical cookie made of chickpeas and sugar and some sort of ground up nut. I think. God, it was amazing. I wish I knew what it was.

Also, Indian food is my absolulte fav. Everytime I go out for it deciding what to eat is an agonizing process of changing my mind about 20 times. Vindaloo, kohrma, jalfrezi, naan, paneer masala, and the curries, oh god no one has mentioned the curries!

Eh, I'm not too much of a fan for masala. I'm a fan of just chicken tikka (http://www.indian-recipe.org/images/chicken%20tikka.jpg) served like so. It was how it was introduced to me in Kuwait and the wife and I constantly ordered different restaurants' versions of it there.

Masala is great and all but having it served with Egyptian pickles, flat bread and a white garlic sauce blows it wayyy out of the water.

And don't say Vij's cause that is too rich for my blood.

Vij's is more known for its Indian-infused dishes than for traditional Indian food. Rangoli (next door, same place, but much cheaper) is a safer bet if you don't want to jump straight into Vij's prices.

Akbar's on Broadway is pretty good. Rubina Tandoori on Kingsway is always reliable. You can also usually get 2 for 1 coupons for Sitar in Gastown in either the Straight or someplace or another, and the place is not bad at all.

I hit a lot of the spots in the "outskirts" of Vancouver more, if you know what I mean. Like, just outside of Vancouver. You know the place. I don't want to say specifically which city. But that's just out of convenience.

naan really requires no spice...I like watching the guy's slap it on the inside of the tandoori...they have asbestos arms I think...I find it's best neutral and as a palate cleanser...I really just use it to mop up butter chicken sauce...does anyone else like buttermilk and cucumber to cool your chops?
