^ well i started it because the two songs i posted were on mtv dance this afternoon , one after another. i was trying to get my baby son to appreciate the groove so to speak. i thought great bit of drum and bass type thing for him. no reaction whatsoever. that other girly piece of shit came on and he went mental, loved it. so i thought i would post both. i wasnt really thinking about it too much.

i dont mind that cover and it isnt the worst version of that song, plus its such a great record that any cover is going to be at least ok but that remix is really nice, different vibe from any other version i have heard(y)

That's the thing though. The original Candi Staton club mix is an awesome record and the remix with the added strings is pretty good too. This version however adds nothing really, it's just the same song sung by someone who isn't as good a singer as Candi Staton - it just seems pointless. The XX Remix though is a new interpretation which I think is done in a really good way.

i think there's going to be another remix of the original out soon cos of the success so it kinda helps introduce original to a new audience.

the scooter track uses the hook from the planet funk tune but its really horrible. i blame the darts, they use the original at live darts events and they shout along to it in a silly way.
