GAHHHH

so, I could do a stay-cation and get a nice hotel with the boyf, or get some fucking awesome winter boots.

what to do...what to do....

your awesome winter boots will stay with you forever, even when you're single, which you inevitably will be when your boyfriend finds out that you ditched him for some stupid boots

they'll also help you attract a new man, provided you don't tell him the reason why the old one left

I dunno. It's the 'staycation' part that I'm stuck on - if you were talking about a weekend away, that would be one thing; but I presume you are just talking about getting a local room and just hanging out together eating room service naked. Which of course I am not in the least opposed to, but if you do actually need boots, sounds to me like maybe not the best use of funds. How keen is the boyfriend on the stay-cation idea?

have you already got your heart set on a certain pair of boots?? cause you could take him shopping, choose a pair that he loves on you, then he can pay for your trip spurned on by promises of you wearing nothing but awesome boots all weekend. cake and eat it,yum

nothing beats standing in a hotel room drinking wine while wearing nothing more than a new clean pair of boots (y)

Part of me wants to ask how you know this; the other part of me is a little wary of what the answer might be.

ha ha, bob. he likes shoes, so he might actually understand...well, probably not.

peachy, we live in chicago, so staying at a nice hotel downtown overlooking the city is pretty fun. also, dressing up and going out to dinner and walking around holding hands is nice too. but I suppose we could just do that anyway...and go back to his apartment.

but, just last night I was in a rich person's high rise condo, doing some art installation...and it was a pretty sweet view.

or or or, it might be nice to take the train to Milwaukee and stay in a fancy hotel there. I've only been to Milwaukee for a couple of hours.

gb, that sounds fantastic...but will never happen. :p these are the boots anyhow: http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalog/product.jsp?productRef=SEARCH&category=&prodId=194816

not too sexy.

you know, those boots won't even match my winter coats. I should do the romance thing. (y)

you mean mr. p didn't tell you about that?

and dorothy, if you listen to me, matching your coat is not an issue!

I dunno, jabum, I think that sounds kind of boring. and chilly!

I'm not really a "hang out in the nude" kind of person though. more like a "hang out in a big fluffy bathrobe with nothing underneath" kind of person.

my fiance is never around for me to spend money on romantic weekends on so I was more than ready to blow money on these puppies (http://www.hushpuppies.ca/en-CA/Shop/Detail.aspx?NavID=W-F09&SID=41096&GNavID=W) this weekend but alas my goddamn calf muscles wouldn't let me zip them up.

I'd give anything for chicken legs sometimes.

ps. nice pick on the Pajar brand boots!
I tried buying this pair (http://www.getoutsideshoes.com/uploads/pajar%20B.jpg) last time I was in Montreal and same goddamn thing, couldn't slide them up over my massive bison calves :(

anyways, moral of the story if this was old love vs new boots I'd go for boots but when its new love vs. new boots go for the romantic weekend because there will still be some booty involved.!

i too have massive calves that prevent the wearing of boots :(

i dont get the whole stay-cation thing. why spend money for a hotel to hang out in a city where you have a home? i mean, paying for a nice dinner and night out is one thing but i feel the hotel is unnecessary, unless you both have roommates and never get any alone time.

I have pretty muscular calves too. :( even if I can get my leg into them, there's no way pants would fit.

I just got these though: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=402491&CategoryID=17588

which fit like a dream. (y) (and I only paid $49.99)

well, I think I'm giving up on the pajar...I think I'd rather have something more versatile. I have my sorels that do really well in the snow...I was just craving something more stylish. *sigh*

as for the stay-cation, well, we had our first dates downtown and dude kinda wants to celebrate us with something special. something that's nice, but doesn't cost too too much. he said it would be neat to stay in a place that basically overlooks everywhere we went. :p :o

but, I'd probably be just as happy if he transformed his place into a romance palace or something. ha. it's just so dark there. and the bathroom is creepy. :/ maybe we can just get a ton of candles and cover the place in velvet.

boots yo.

I'm also on the search for awesome winter boots but am putting it off until my next paycheck that occurs AFTER a romantic/birthday getaway next weekend. We are going out of state though. Otherwise, I'd say "F U I want some new boots, ho".

well, I randomly fell into a pile of money this week...and my dude and I decided to plan a trip away sometime after christmas, so boots it is!

I think. ohhh, I can't decide. I should just save the money and wear my boots from last year. :(

Do something...DECIDE!
I've always been like you, but when I started deciding things faster, my life got much better.

It's like that, you want it? You need it? You want it really bad? Would it make you really really happy?? Is it very expensive that it will make things hard for you in the future and will forbid you to buy important things? If yes for the good questions and no for the bad ones, then dooooo ittttt!!!

A friend of mine bought a car and she's gonna pay it in 60 months!!! I wanted to buy a nice brand new car, but I didn't want to suffer for 60 months. And I know something. When you buy something, it makes you happy for a week at most. No kidding. I mean, the euphory goes by really fast, so I decided to save a lot of money in 8 months and I'll have a 0 km car, and I'll pay it only in 5 more months!!! I may suffer in 5 months, but nothing compared to 5 years!!! Hihihihihi! Now she's all crazy about her finances and I'm just saving money, but knowing that I'll do a great deal in just a few months. This, of course, is a huge item.

Anyway, just decide it. :D

winter boots to me really aren't all THAT wintery. I just say winter. It does get cold though in the bay area of California, despite what people may think... :)

annnd, I'm not getting the boots, I decided to go on a clothes shopping spree instead. I got a sweater, a sweatshirt dress thing, a short floral skirt with pockets, a cardigan, some tights and a new necklace. all for around $120, 40 bucks less than those dang boots. I'm satisfied. (y)

well, we tried to have a romantic weekend. in the end, we decided it was dumb to plan romance. there were headaches involved. we just had too much other stuff to do that created stress, fun stuff...but still stressful because we were in charge of it, and I'm at work today...blah.

I got to smoke pots in a trading office downtown though, that was fucking weird. prior to that I was in a state of the art recording studio in a space age building with super tight security. real creepy, I tell you what.

were you at O'Hare?

mmm, I was going to say something about O'Hare, but I'm usually always just running through it and don't have anything to comment on! ha.
