How's everyones morale?...sound off troop...it's piss poor around here...feels like everyone is holding breath, waiting for the winter break...things feel swampy, lacking clarity and hilarity...nofunforme...

play to play.

Its so freaking gray right now that its hard to stay positive. We need the first snow to hit and it'll pick up, no matter the season its same old shit, different day. As a true brit, I blame most things on the weather (the rest on the EU).

works shit, all the family is ill, skint, cant even be arsed going out for my birthday next week (although that might be cos i have a few options and cant decide amd i sorta just want to chill out with missus and watch the x factor). no motivation whatsoever

MC Moot

hmmmm...I never think of the snow as something that accumulates or stay's in the U.K...maybe in the Scottish highlands or something...I would take the staff to Blackpool...Blackpool seems tacky and sweet to me,ideal for a morale building retreat...we would go to a old fashioned dancehall, drink, eat fish and chips and play the penny arcade...it's probably nothing like that...but that's where I'd go for relief...

Blackpool is exactly like that and you're right, the snow doesn't stay but the fact it lasts a few days three or 4 times a year in the next the next 4 months or so gives a few good days out of the gray miserable drizzle we put up with inbetween (y)

yeah...I'll bet a little of the frozenH20 would make the rows a nice site...probably loosen the purse and pub strings as well...

weather has been great here, i just got off a week with 17 hours of OT and all of the bollocks created at the job gets bounced off on the other guy. i just have to show up every day and make sure these guys don't do anything stupid and i'm a winner here.

the only complaint i have is that the only daylight we have comes while i'm at work.

the weather's been nice here, so I've been in a decent mood. I haven't felt too motivated at work though. I kinda wish I could just lay around all the time.

my honey bun was away for the weekend and now he's back, so I'm in a good mood because I get to see him tonight. also, I just got some new socks and underwear! hooray!

I'm busier than ever and I'm moving on in terms of career/money making schemes, but in other ways I'm feeling pretty low. I'm starting to feel like my relationship is becoming a bit stagnant but not sure why. Weather is shit. Daily grind is making me tired.

Normally it's pretty good, I'm leaving Germany in a couple of weeks which is great. But right now, I am on a shitty guard duty with some asshole guard commanders and have only had 3 hours sleep. It's gone 3am and I've still got the rest of the hour to go. And then I'm up at 6am for the rest of the day. Just. Fucking. Great.

I've been bummed out the past few weeks due to some bullshit chick drama with a few friends of mine which has resulted in a mild downward spiral. Having such little daylight now certainly isn't helping my overall mood or ability to cope with such events and I can feel my seasonal depression rearing its ugly mug.

But, on the bright side, I have a rad boyfriend who I can count on to watch football with me every Sunday alllllll damn day, thus making the thought of a brutally cold and dreary winter slightly bearable. (y)

Today morale is low enough that it requires deploying mission plan “Direct Avoidance”…I am switching up my route, using the back stairs, avoiding common areas and staff room…I am like a whisp of smoke you may or may not of seen,a shadow, faint or greatly reduced in appearance…a trace or possibility of something from a better day…bulls can’t see me,that’s how it is…

My week is hitting rock bottom. Just want to catch a break. I'm blaming this thread.

MC Moot

“One must not lay blame upon the thread…the thread only serves to illuminate ones subconscious disposition and relevant state of aggravation…”

I too bring my vitamin stash to work because its much easier to remember to take them when you are getting paid to do so!

moot is a junky. shape up, son!

(i only take 3 supplements to your 4)

Adam
11-17-2009, 04:42 PM
so is the consensus here that supplements work? I used to take them, I admit but apart from turning my piss really yellow I couldn't feel the difference even over long periods although I know its hard to judge. Although I can guess that I had the same ups and downs along with the same illness frequency. And all science journals (that I trust) don't seem to rate them too highly. I am a cynic by nature so I shouldn't pass judgment so easily I suppose.

Or you shouldn't trust my judgment as it'll nearly always be negative (y)

Attempted morale rally side swiped by news…I been rear ended by a revelation…I just found out our best friends are splitting…no warning signs…never could have guessed they were anything but perfectly happy…they just moved in together at the beginning of the month…wow…I literally feel dazed, my head is swimming…wtf…how does this work now?...don’t know what to do…or how to handle...

jabumbo

quit the junk food binge, go flirt with the female half of this friends split and it will make dude jealous enough that they will get back together.

MC Moot
11-18-2009, 11:51 AM
oh....if only things in life were that simple...I can’t even decide to tell the female half of the split that a suite is available in my building…because I don’t know how it will be perceived or reacted to by the other half…

it's tough. very tough.
Even 4.5 years later, when we all hang out in a group (with each of their current S.O.'s present no less) the fact that they once dated is always there hanging over us like a thick fog.

MC Moot
11-18-2009, 12:53 PM
yeah...I don't know how the dynamic of our friendships will turn out...the cat is such a good guy...I'm genuinely fond of him, funny as all hell...really good peeps...but it's one of those "who did you know first?" scenarios...I will not be choosing any sort of specific allegiance because theres no fault to be found...complicated grown up jazz...

A friend couple of mine broke up a couple of years ago. When they broke up I told them both it was their responsibility to figure things out and they should not try to make us choose between them.

Unfortunately in practice what that amounted to was the male half sort of refused to deal with it and the female half couldn't handle hanging out when he was around and seeing him flirt with new girls (which is understandable). He wouldn't compromise by stepping aside sometimes so she could hang out with the group (probably because he doesn't have any other friends) and she eventually went her own way.

Things got even more complicated when he started dating a girl in the group who used to be sort of friends with his ex.
