I know the 4th & 5th congressional districts in New Mexico have already been removed this week, but was it a big dael that congressional districts that don't exist received federal bail out money according to the federal gov?

let me give you a warning,
unless you reference the huffingtonpost, or the daily show, or daily kos, or some other left wing resource, or moveon.org, or quote what your professor says, your posts will be ignored.
thanks.

Well, it would be nice if he had a link (doesn't need to be from Huffington Post) that would shed more light on the situation. Your cheap shots do not shed any light on anything.

I can shed some light on this...
http://watchdog.org/2009/11/17/your-guide-to-the-stimulus-district-by-phantom-district/
United States: 440 phantom districts
New Mexico Watchdog (http://newmexico.watchdog.org) broke the story on Monday morning–the Obama Administration claimed to create jobs in congressional districts that did not exist. Those reporting errors, however, was not limited to New Mexico. A Watchdog study (http://watchdog.org/2009/11/17/6-4-billion-stimulus-goes-to-phantom-districts/) has found the stimulus has given $6.4 billion to 440 non-existent districts in all 50 states, D.C. and even four American territories. is this your way of avoiding addressing the thread topic, or the story I linked?
440 non-existant districts, yo.
$6.4 Billion dollars, yo.
If this was money spent of defense that was missing, I bet you'd be shouting it from the rooftops.
Where's my $6.4 Billion at, Obama?

Here's a better warning: don't align yourself with valvano or you'll risk becoming a moron by association.
From what I can tell after having researched this a bit, the errors on recovery.org were pretty glaringly obvious, like listing states like Maine and Kentucky with over 90 congressional districts. That suggests to me that this is more of a data entry problem than anything else. I'm inclined to believe that there were multiple errors made by the people who originally submitted the information, which errors were then compounded by the administration employees responsible for compiling and presenting it. Clearly the federal government's technology interfacing could use some work.
But that doesn't mean any money was misspent, wasted, or simply disappeared into a black hole. It means the administration has to come up with a better system for tracking it and presenting the results to the citizenry. It's an embarrassing issue, but pretty minor on the whole.

A lame attempt at trying to excuse laziness that costs taxpayers money.
I don't care if Obama, Hillary, or McCain were in office, if they want to fix the budget, fix laziness like this and spend an extra five minutes on a process so we don't waste money just trying to make the process faster.
I agree with you that it would be better if our government didn't create a stupid payment processes like this.
But how hard is it to enforce a "If you don't fill out the form correctly, you don't get paid" policy?
I mean, the administration knows the public watchdogs are going to be watching where every penny goes.
How fucking hard is it for a government agency to look up their district?
How about Biden type up an Excel spreadsheet with the correct districts and post it on the web site where you apply?
Same as medicare fraud.
We send checks assuming doctors are valid instead of having doctors sign up and be validated before being able to get payments.
Why are insurance companies profitable?
Hmmm, maybe because they make sure that they aren't paying for BS claims.
Our government doesn't care about profitability because we already run a deficit, so what is a few more dollars when it means less votes?
This again is the pay first, ask questions later mindset that wastes so much tax payer money, it's absurd.

One other interesting thing about this is that these are the same people reporting the number of new jobs. As you can guess creating new districts and being pledged with errors, the number of new jobs reported is probably also filled with errors.
As far as my “thanks for the warning”, that was just my bad sense of humor . .. it made me laugh at least twice thinking about it.

Man there are a lot of lazy fucking morons out there. In government, big business, small business and teaching in schools as well as sitting in the desks. I thought society was supposed to advance eventually.
