I don't think any of the other albums are contenders for best Tribe album.

Overall, I think MM has aged better. Naturally, you can't deny the influence Low End had. I think the general consensus is that it's the superior of the two. Admittedly, I still keep Check The Rhime, Buggin Out, The Infamous Date Rape, and Vibes And Stuff in rotation. But a lot of it is kinda dated in either sound (Show Business, Verses From The Abstract) or in theme (Skypager).

On the other hand, I can still listen to MM all the way through without skipping. Steve Biko, Sucka Nigga, The Chase Pt. 2, Oh My God, and Clap Ya Hands (wut wut, roosta) are completely timeless. Plus Phife improved a lot by MM. Also, the cover is probably one the best album covers ever.

They're both classics, but:

MM > Low End

yeah, probably MM for me, it just seems more consistent. but both are excellent its difficult to decide.

It's kind of hard to listen to Skypager these days.

LET......no filler....a lot of different rhyme styles...jazz fusion....Scenario!!!

MM isn't bad by any means, but i'll skip thru: midnight, keep it rollin, chase...even suck n if i got ish to do....but i'll cosign on Biko being the jam of '93 along with the who's/who of album covers.....

Very tough call, 2 of the seminal hip-hop ALBUMS of all time!
but imho Marauders is epic while Low End is just great.

Interestingly (for me) "Peoples Instinctive travels..." I would rate slightly higher than Low End (but its neck and neck practically). Surprised no one else has love for that album. Astonishing, game changing (literally) debut. Wheres the love?

Great thread- not enough tribe love in my life recently, I plan to correct that directly, so good looking out!

Damn, I haven't listened to either properly for quite a while - so thanks for the heads up.

I just think they're very different albums. To me LET holds together better as a single unit, yet MM is maybe a little more consistent. I love the simplicity of LET and the energy of MM. I couldn't really live without either.

I'm a hopeless critic - They're 2, excellent, different, albums.(y)
