Nice,

Amazon (US) Says

Hot Sauce Committee Pt 1
Beastie Boys (Artist)
This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Link (http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Sauce-Committee-Pt-1/dp/B002HWUU5E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1259060955&sr=8-1)

"discontinued" seems rather harsh... Delayed, Pushed back, and Coming Soon all sound better.

Thanks for the source link

I was confused at first...

UK must list dates different than US

08-02-2010 in the US would be August 2, 2010

This thread is like a game of Chinese whispers, if you go to the first post it clearly states February 8th 2010! That probably means the US date would be February 9th 2010.

How true any of this is anyway is unclear, up until about a week ago HMV UK had the release for Monday 7th December 2009 - so let’s believe this until we get an official date.

Any news from anywhere? It’s all gone too damn quiet over here!

On Hip Hop DX (http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.10367/title.dx-release-date-round-up-1-3-2010), they wrote about a release on April 6th, 2010. Sounds somehow realistic but I coudn't find an official source which verifies this.

Go, Beasties, Go!

No way! If the release was a month away we would have heard something official by now. I'm putting my money on March or April. And hold your horses y'all! There is plenty of good music out there to tide you over.

The first BS 2000, which was self titled and only came out on vinyl was an album of beats from Adrock that were supposedly left over from Hello Nasty. The 2nd album was called, "Simply Mortified" and was a collaboration between Adrock and AWOL. It's been described as Casio Punk Pop. You can find that on CD.

As far as other music beyond The Beastie's, that's new or recent (within the last few years) that I recommend... There is Santigold, Fat Lip (The Loneliest Punk), Electrelane, Battles, Buffalo Daughter (Pshychic), Cage, Cut Chemist, The Dead Weather, Fever Ray, The Flaming Lips (Embryonic), Ghostland Observatory (Paparazzi Lightning), Robert Walters (Super Heavy Organ), Kid Koala, Mos Def (The Ecstatic), Q-Tip (The Renaissance), or Nigo.

Or just listen to some old JB's, Herbie Hancock, The Meters, Ween, Beck, Cibo Matto, Jay-Z, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Roots, Maceo Parker, Missy Elliott, RJD2, The Notorious B.I.G., Prince Paul, or Handsome Boy Modeling School.

Don't get me wrong Beastie Boys are by far my favorite band of all time but I listen to a lot of other music beyond them. I think out of the music I listed there's plenty to tide over any Beastie fan. The Beastie's listen to all kinds of music and so should you!

You live in a Beastie bubble.

There's good stuff out there right now. It's just not on the radio.

That sounds awesome. Is there a download link or anything?

I don't know of any downloadable links. I have it on vinyl but have yet to transfer it into digital form. I'm sure it's somewhere on the web.

If it was February 8th, they would've announced it already. April would be the most realistic, although March would be nice.

At this point i don't mind waiting two or three months or so for Hot Sauce Committee, but i just want some news. I wonder if once they announce a new release date that the next single will be previewable on Amazon.

I'd love it if they did one of those surprise, out-of-nowhere drops, announcing like only a week before, or even days. Not likely, I know, but hey, they're not incapable of it either.

I am really starting to get antsy though. One can only imagine they're waiting for closer to summer, but in these fucked up times within the music industry does it really matter anymore what season or "quarter" they drop something in? really? Let's be realistic, it's not like this record's gonna get a whole lotta airplay on the mainstream programming tip anyway. Shit, they're already in more danger of the previously leaked songs getting stale than compromising some sort of summer enthusiasm. but then again, I suppose it could still be in the realm of health issues as well.

I'm assuming they want to be able to go back on tour during, or before, the release.

I think its safe to assume that after several false dawns that HMV is not a reliable source for the official release date for the album.(n)

i just read that yauch spent a month on holiday so looks like he's only just got back and he is dealing with his film projects(interview on mic to mic blog).so i think its safe to say april the 6th is the closet release date were gonna see.
he also said it will be a "couple of years before he is out of the woods with cancer, even though he's better at the moment"
I think i understand now that he does'nt want to make a promise of a world tour just yet, just to let people down.co's that kind of shit is gonna wear anybody out,let alone if your recovering from cancer.
i think they should release the album soon with videos and forget a tour, until hot sauce committee part 2 is due out in 2011or something?

Agreed. I hope they finish the album and get some music videos out there. The tour would definitely be more taxing on MCA. The videos from TMU barely got any air play so it's really been a good 5 years now.

I've heard numerous rumors about Fall 2010 (September), which I think makes sense. They should bundle them with the watches Mike D designed :D

edit: And according to the radio, it IS September for a fact.
