I just spent a ton of money on myself and it's this close to Christmas, I should be saving money to spend on other people. I should be allowing other people to get this stuff for me. I'm awful!! But I hate having to tell people what I want for Christmas. I usually just say I want scented lotion or candles or something.

It's so funny the none-too-subtle ways people try to find out what I want.

"So, what have you been telling people you want for christmas? Like, clothes and stuff? So do you wear like a small...or?"

My mom's such a bitch she'll tell me what I have that looks like shit and she'll tell me I need new ones. Then she'll spend way too much on something too nice for me. I live in a tiny little cheap apartment, I drive a cheap car, I have cheap stuff. I don't care. But it's so silly the way I have some really nice things that just don't fit with my life. They seem like a waste. Luxury towels and measuring cups for the kitchen are not on my dream list of wants. What difference does that stuff make?

We usually just end up shopping and going on pre-Christmas sprees for ourselves during the weeks leading up to the holidays. I actually ended up buying my own Christmas presents (with permission) two months ago.

Yeah. I could lie and say it was for medical reasons ( is deviated septum the popular condition?) but it's not. I just don't like it and am finally in a position to be able to do something about it. Not saying it's going fix all my 'woes' but might make feel a bit more confident/happy, more like me. See what surgery has done for the bride :pHow happy she seems to be!! no offense to your mom, but my empanadas bring ALL the boys to the yard. and by yard, i mean my dinner table for thanksgiving. chilean empanadas are so damn good, it's crazy. i'm making vegetarian ones, meat ones, and fried cheese ones. turkeys be damned.

as or christmas... i have bought some of my presents already, i know what to get everyone i want to gift, and i just have to pick up some little extra things here and there as things come up. i love getting presents for people, it's really one of my favorite things to do. i try to get people things that they would really appreciate having. it's really a great feeling when you are able to do that.
