They say when children lie they're either creative or rich or something. I lie a lot, but I'm a broke unoriginal growed up bitch ass. Some of them are obvious lies, but at work in particular I like to tell lies and see if they take. I convinced some people I was related to one of the creators of 'Friends'.

Elaborate please (y)
I've been told on many occasions that I am possibly the worst liar ever. That's not to say that I lack in creativity or verve - it's just that I have the worst poker. I cannot keep a straight face at all.

I can tell when people are lying on here, because I often recognise my own lie within theirs.

you are lying to yourself now
Some are compulsive liars. That's a sad sight to see. When you get that bad, that's when you need an intervention.

i went to school with a "kid" (he looked about 40 at the time) who swore up and down he was best friends with bruce springstein. like bruce springstein gave him his first guitar.. that bruce asked him for help writing "philadelphia".. that he'd get backstage access at any bruce show. obviously he was mentally off - one time he called a friend of mine and said he was backstage, he even played some kind of crown mumble track on his stereo for effect... someone star sixty nined him and his MOM picked up.
at least you;'re not that bad

This kid named Bertrand, a big samoan dude in high school, used to lie to us about Street Fighter 3 back in 1994. He said it was only in Auckland, and there was an NZ fighter with gumboots.
My Mum lied to me and said she would take my paper round money to put a Megadrive on lay-by. When I thought it was nearly paid off my dad said he'd shout me the rest and we went along to the shop and they said there was no lay-by. Haha what a bitch.
Wow, that wasn't cool of your mom at all. (n)
The truth is, I lie a lot to

i try and never lie. in the small instances i do they are usually inconsequential and are as an example, telling a girl she looks good in something to spare her feelings.

The way I see it, there are a few kinds of lies/liars and some are better than others.
Basically, I lie to avoid trouble for myself. Say, I got really fucked up at a music festival on the weekend and I'm still coming down on Monday I will lie and say I'm a bit off today as I didn't get much sleep last night (it's too hot, neighbours were noisy, working on some report, etc.).
Then, there are lies used to spare another's feelings - if someone asks a difficult question directly I'll just give an indirect answer. I don't lie about my feelings, how I feel towards someone, or about how someone looks. There are ways of being tacful and honest without lying.
Then there are lies purposely made to decieve, to serve a personal purpose, which are the worst (having recently been on the recieving end of some of these). Um, then you get the lies that are just lies, made on purpose to make people laugh, or seem impressive, or whatever.
I try not to lie, I guess.

Yeah Mum sounds real harsh based on that Megadrive story, but she taught me how to forgive, which is a good lesson. (y)

thats fucked up! to forgive is mostly to forget.
doesnt anyone have any good pathological liar stories?
I once knew a kid who was a pathological liar. He'd lie about anything, just knee-jerk response.
He told us a long story about how he bloodied a guy with a butcher's knife when he was 11 to protect his girlfriend who was being abused. The cops showed up and admonished him for saving her.
He told another story about his parents buying him a ribeye for breakfast and a t-bone for lunch every day while he was "beefing up" for JV football.
He claimed to have been in over 33 knife fights as an informal member of gangs. We demanded to see the scars but he said "they heal really well."
He explained an elaborate plan to move to LA once he graduated highschool and fight "the gangs" with black market guns.
Last I heard of him he was actually trying to become a professional bounty hunter. He was banned from the military because he couldn't stop lying during the psych eval tests and he'd say truly crazy stuff to try to impress them.

If you're going to be a Liar, why don't you just cross that isle and be a salesman too while you're at it so you can at least make $ at it.
I'm not in the habit of lying for the most part. I kick facts and I'm not very good at sugarcoating things either. I'm talking about when I speak not type. Obviously
(Edit and disappeared a big bunch of words that I won't go into)
Which leads me to question are most people better at lying to complete strangers than people they know and know us and our mannerisms? I don't know nor do I really care one way or the other I just found it an interesting side note. That begs the question do people trust strangers moreso than people they already know? I'm of the belief that people go against what is right for them and are too trusting towards strangers...Believing that we are naturally good. I don't buy into that. Or I try to tell myself that I don't.
I think you may tell the truth to strangers more. Like when you go to the barbers, I hate talking but they often insist that you do talk to them and before you know it you're telling them shit you wouldn't tell any1 else, or you'd sugarcoat it more with others.
I cut my own hair now.
I actually find I'm brutally honest sometimes, to the point people think I am lying.
Actually I dunno.
