Is 3 Minute Rule a freestyle or anything else on PB, it seems like the way they rap most of it they're spitting it off the top of their heads [they don't really take the moment of pause], but either way it's still pretty fucking sweet

I see where the OP is coming from, but naw, it's too good to be a freestyle. Besides, they recorded a demo of it with slightly different lyrics (eg. instead of MCA rapping "I was makin' recording since you were sucking your mothers DICK" he says "You don't know me man why don't you just shut the fuck UP") which suggests they wrote it.

Yauch seemed not interested in being part of that. Which is odd being that from what I've read he seemed to be the instigator of high hopes pre'86 of saying they were going to be on Soul Train and other illusions of grandeur, as it would seem at the time.
