no way! the one shoulder backpack thing was around in about 1982 and i had a trapper keeper till i got to jr. high

i havent seen those rectangular pencil cases with ejecting drawers in like forever!

I had a Trapper Keeper in the 1970s -- they only came in solid colors back then.

I didn't get a backpack until 1982. Maybe some kids had them before that but I don't remember seeing many of them.
