Anyone remember some minor buzz gravitating around a project called "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"? It was a group consisting of producers EZ Mike (Mike Simpson of the Dust Brothers), Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Handsome Boy Modeling School, etc.), and Prince Paul (De La Soul, Gravediggaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, etc.). They did the record back in the late 90s, and guest names orbiting the project included Beck, De La Soul, Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl, and Bjork.

I don't know about y'all, but this schematic sounds like a wet dream to me. Deltron-era Automator, a Beck-era Dust Brother, and a "still relevant" Prince Paul, all in one? Articles were prefacing, "What do you get when you put together 3 turntables, 3 samplers, and a random selection of obscure vinyl? The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly."

Supposedly they had a deal with Dreamworks at one point. I pray to god that these tracks will someday surface. :o

That is all.

No one's posted anything yet, so I just wanted to throw in a slightly off-topic link to *this* The Good, The Bad and the Ugly because:

* it's a great tune
* I like audio gear
* vinyl is big right now
* I grew up listening to stereo consoles like this one
* a great example of all those groups, like the Hollyridge Strings, back in the 60s and 70s who took rockin' tunes and made them more "acceptable" for department store PA systems, though I think some of the versions are actually pretty good (like this one!)......

A 1968 Magnavox stereo console plays a classic western movie tune (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiTWv-sQ43s) :)
